Oryx Hotel

A pretty decent hotel. It's about a 10-minute walk to the sea. The beach is large; there's a public, free section and a family, paid section. Breakfasts were a bit repetitive, but you could always find something to eat. We only had breakfast there, but we did have dinner a couple of times. They offer fish, beef, and chicken. Housekeeping comes daily. It's 4 km to the Presidential Palace and Emirates Palace hotel. Marina Mall is about the same distance and very cozy.

Great location and excellent service. Housekeeping was daily, and they provided a bathrobe, iron, and ironing board upon request. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious. The breakfast selection was quite limited, but we didn't leave hungry. For fruit, they only had apples, watermelon, canned pineapple, and peaches. The pool was small but heated. There are plenty of cafes and a supermarket nearby where you can get a good meal.

Aside from the location, the hotel wasn't very satisfying. When we arrived, there was a towel missing, and the pillow was dirty. We called the reception to ask for a pillow and a towel, but we had to go down to the reception in person to get them. The new pillow they gave us was also dirty. The breakfast room was quite dirty, and the buffet was running out an hour before breakfast service ended.

Check-in and everything else was smooth, and the room was clean. However, the lobby had a very unpleasant perfume smell. Also, the hallway and room reeked of cigarette smoke. There are plenty of cafes nearby, so I was glad I didn't opt for the breakfast, as I imagine the quality wouldn't have been great.

Very satisfied with our stay. The location is super convenient, with a bus stop just 50 meters downstairs, making it easy to get anywhere. The room was spacious, and breakfast was decent for 30 AED per person.
