The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok

On our first night, my husband was about to take a shower. As soon as he turned on the handheld showerhead, he noticed some brown, unidentifiable grime on it. We contacted the hotel, and a staff member came to replace the showerhead. However, there was hardly any formal apology during the process; instead, they first scraped off the grime before replacing it. Afterward, we requested a room change. The room the hotel provided was extremely small and noticeably dusty. The communication regarding the room change dragged on until past midnight. In the middle of the night, the lights in the room turned on by themselves, and the curtains opened on their own. The entire stay was a terrible experience, and we ended up checking out early. What's most incomprehensible is that the hotel later promised via email to waive the room charges, but then added extra conditions during the actual refund process. For a Ritz-Carlton, such unsanitary conditions and the subsequent handling of the situation are truly disappointing. I've attached a photo of the grime on the showerhead when it was discovered. Everyone can judge for themselves before booking a room.

I previously stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Krabi, and upon checkout, the manager recommended the Ritz-Carlton in Bangkok. After staying there, I can confirm it's excellent in every aspect. The view overlooks Lumpini Park, which is beautiful, and in the mornings, many people are jogging there. Breakfast is semi-buffet style, and simply ordering from the menu is more than enough. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, always checking if you need anything. Recommended dishes like the river prawns are delicious; there were no misses. After you finish, they'll ask if you'd like to order anything else, and when you say you're full, they'll give you a genuinely disappointed look – their emotional expression is spot on. The room is spacious, and the facilities are very new, including a smart toilet and a Dyson hairdryer. From check-in to check-out, the staff were friendly, professional, and efficient. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

A very new Ritz-Carlton, right next to the Australian and Japanese embassies, with a park downstairs. The decor and breakfast were excellent. The only minor drawback was that even after requesting a room away from the main road, the traffic noise from below was still clearly audible.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bangkok: The staff were very polite, and breakfast was the biggest surprise this time – very high quality. However, on the first night of our stay, the room lights malfunctioned and wouldn't turn off. The engineering team worked on it until midnight but couldn't fix it, so they had to cut the wires to force the lights off and deal with it the next day. Having to deal with this issue for two consecutive nights really affected the experience. I emailed the hotel, but there was no compensation afterwards. Aside from this incident, everything else was okay.
