Lu' Hotel Carbonia

We had a wonderful time in Sardinia thanks to a perfect stay at Hotel Lu in Carbonia.

The hotel is highly recommended. The only criticism was the €3 charge per pool towel, especially since other guests were just taking towels from their rooms.

We stayed 3 days and 2 nights with all the comforts, very clean room, dinner on arrival 16/08/2025 and lunch on 17/08/2025, everything was good, including breakfast. Professional and helpful waiters. Thank you for everything.

Nice hotel with a spa, private parking, and easy access to everything. Room prices are higher than average, so these aspects could be improved, such as the slightly hard bed and very flat pillows. Breakfast is adequate for the hotel, but fresh juices and less processed products could be added.

All the staff were helpful, the sweet and savory breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and thanks to the reception staff we spent two lovely days on Maladroxia beach (sunbeds and umbrellas were booked directly by the hotel in a part of the beach club reserved for its guests for a fee).

The hotel is very well located for sailing in southern Sardinia. Very clean, friendly staff, and quality facilities (especially the gym). The breakfast is excellent and very generous. I recommend it without hesitation.

Overall, we had a good time, but there are several things that need to be addressed, considering it's a 4-star hotel. Let's just say that based on the reviews, we had much higher expectations. The pool was nice, but quite small for the number of seats available, with few lounge chairs and no additional ones available. If you didn't immediately settle into an umbrella after breakfast, you'd be sure to find a spot within an hour, and you'd be forced to sit at the tables despite the poolside swims. Another flaw: pillows were too low to sleep on, almost nonexistent. I asked for an extra pillow and almost had to beg for it because I was initially told they were "out of stock," but after careful inspection, a pillow was found that could be had. The food was good, but the quality needed some work. The platter was meager; they only brought us two pieces of parmesan and two mozzarella sticks, and the rest was all recycled cold cuts from breakfast. The rooms were spacious, and the entire hotel was impeccably clean. The spa is a must-see, and the prices are excellent! The lack of staff, despite it being the mid-August holiday, was noticeable in the many requests we made, even just waiting for a spritz by the pool. I'd say that if there were more thoughtful touches, this hotel could really be a good place, but we left feeling a little dissatisfied.
