Golden Hill Inn-Danbury

I found stains on the pillows, manl long hairs on the sheets and the bedspread was totally wrinkled. Even though ipaid for two night and the manager offered another room, i can't trust this hotel. Never again.

We always stay here when we in Danbury. It's always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.

When I arrived, I checked in and went to my room. There was NO HEAT on at all! The temperature outside was 12 degree Farenheit! So, that was the temperature inside my room! If they have a certain amount of rooms pre-booked, shouldn't they make sure the heat is turned on in those rooms. That way, the guests dont have to wait 3 hrs for the room to heat up! Also, it was difficult to regulate the heat while I slept. It got too hot and my nose was dry from the heat. So, I lowered it and it turned off completely! I had to call the office and have them fix it. I had very little sleep from the disruption. Also, there were no handtowels! Just a bath towel and wash cloth! The hotel rate was $107 w/tax fees. I found much better hotels in the area for $80 incl tax/fees! The room size was comforatable and it was clean. However,overall, I'm Very DIsappointed!

Upon entering the room and then going to the bathroom, I found the toilet bowl full of urine and toilet paper. I got there late at night so I didn’t bother contacting the staff. The room although the air-conditioning/heat was said hi the room was terribly cold. I wanted an extra blanket, but wasn’t able to get one that late at night. The hotel needs a redo a lot of not so great conditions although clean things needed to be upgraded. Towels were very thin and small. The next day when I told the establishment about it, they said you should’ve called us. I don’t know how much they could’ve done but they just shrugged it off. I told him I would be going there at least once a month, but not using their facility and the only thing they could say was “ ok” Bojo, when I got there, I went up the driveway that was very iced up and was very nervous. Although I managed to get up the driveway only to find out that was the driveway they didn’t want you to use. I have to say the husband was very helpful in getting my car and taking it to a safe place. But that’s when all the goodness ended.

There is a reason that this property rents forb17.5% less than other motels in the area (*******). First noise, you will be on the emergency vehicle pathway that parallels rt 84. The driveway in and out are dangerously steep and unsighted. There are no amenities, the “handicapped” room, while accessible from the parking area, had a bathtub and no handrails of any sort. There was a refrigerator that I had to shim up to stablize the machine and get the refrigerator door to open properly. A trip to the office was necessary to procure toilet paper. Only those stopping overnight on the way to somewhere else should take the cheaper rates offered by this motel.

Our room was very clean Just overhead lighting, no lamps. I couldn't get the hairdryer to work. Although the mattress was comfortable, The base of the bed was metal. The metal base made noise when you moved in bed. I would not stay again.

This family run motel is very clean and the buildings are maintained. It isn’t a five star resort but it’s an exceptional value for the price paid. I travel a lot and I’ll be back!

I love how the property sits atop a hill, on the corner. After settling in my room, I noticed the TV would not power on. I contacted the front desk and the woman came to my room with 3 remotes. Eventually she required an alternate. She went above and beyond to ensure I had a working TV. I appreciated that effort. Id recommend this location.
