InterContinental Hotels DOHA BEACH & SPA by IHG

We had a very good stay at this hotel. The amenities are definitely the highlight here with a very nice beach, large outdoor pool area and plenty of on-site dining options. The hotel is centrally located in Doha and is close to the Al Qassar metro station which gives good access to many popular areas and attractions in the city. Check in was quick and easy when we arrived but I found we had a different experience coming into the hotel each night despite staying there. We brought some snacks on our first day without issue but then on the second day they made me sign a sheet to say we were bringing in food. They have a scanner at the door and didn't make me use it a couple of times but they made sure we walked through with our phones and wallets on the side our last night. He door procedures should be consistent. The room was nicely appointed with plenty of storage space, a large desk, a coffee/tea station, fully stocked mini bar and a very comfy couch. The bed was large and very firm with some soft/moldable pillows. There is a pillow menu at this hotel and it is recommended to call early to get access to the pillows. We had a very good night's sleep our first night but we found there were some very disruptive and noisy people in the hall just after midnight on our second night at the hotel. There is a pretty good phone service and once you call they are able to provide housekeeping, extra water or fill any requests quickly but we had difficulties reaching them on our second night. The bathroom was good with some nice bath products including body lotion. There was a large counter, bidet, big bath tub and a nice shower. We felt the water flow rate could be a bit stronger for the bath tub and it took a bit to fill the bath tub one evening. We have stayed at other hotels and areas in Doha and would say this hotel had one of the best beach areas we've seen. There were lots of lounge chairs, activities and some very soft towels. The sand at the beach was well maintained during our visit. The bar for the beach and pool area was nice and during high season they have QR codes by your seating area so you can order online and have food/drinks delivered to you. They have daily scheduled activities like beach volleyball and paddle. Near the beach area is Mykonos restaurant which is a very good Greek restaurant. We booked the hotel with breakfast and would recommend trying it out. Coral Restaurant was not too busy during our stay and the staff are kind, friendly and attentive. They make some very good coffee here and we appreciated that they remembered us and our preferences. The breakfast area has good Arabic and Western options, plenty of cheese, pastries, fruit, smoked fish and some tasty infused honey (vanilla, mint, thyme, spiced, etc.). They had made to order eggs, pancakes and waffles during our stay. Some restaurants on site take their IHG rewards programs for discounts and others will take discount applications like Urban Point for BOGO meals so it is worth asking in advance. We would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a relaxing stay with everything on site or want to be centrally located. We felt it was well priced when we stayed considering the amenities and condition of the hotel.

Beautiful beach. The hotel is a little old for the price but here you are certainly paying for the resort amenities

We booked the hotel during our 15 hours stay in qatar, While booking we gave the details of our card to be charged, While checking in we asked if all the payments had gone through to which he mentioned yes it ll be taken care from the website we booked through our credit card. But the drama at checkout was unreal, We had ordered room service- Pizza and shesh touk - which had a very dry chicken me and my baby only tried one piece of the of the whole chicken and asked the kitchen staff to take it back as is, Upon our checkout we were also charged for the same as they mentioned, mam you tried the chicken piece!! How on earth could I tell without checking how the chicken was, that is ridiculous I had to pay for something we never ate. The reception staff on 19th night - Anisa and tendai Were very difficult, very unprofessional and lacked a whole lot of service adiqutte. I would not recommend this place as you expect a good service for what you are paying for BUT THE STAFF is not very professional.

Right after our arrival to this hotel we were expecting multiple problems. Customer manager was trying to do her best to make our mood better with complimentary gestures, and after I complained I saw the improvement but still this hotel needs proper stuff training and communication improvements. Neither one day I received any room amenities (teeth brush, vanity kit etc) , for every single and simple thing you gotta ask. And then it’s very slow to execute things. Food at main restaurant fresh but tasteless, we tried one of alacart restaurant on lobby floor but again food was missing flavors. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone who use to stay in five star hotels , because you will feel exhausted to communicate about your needs. That’s a pitty, because property is beautiful, beach is nice, workers are postive and have a smiley face. Just whole lack of management doesn’t make holidays here enjoyable

Everything about this hotel is incredible. The service from every member of staff that we encountered was excellent. I cannot explain how incredibly comfortable the beds, pillows and duvets were. The amenities consist of everything you will ever need and more. Absolutely loved it and will return 💕

Very nice hotel in Doha. The location is good, services are nice. Specially, Richard, the supervisor, was very supportive during my stay. the Coral Restaurant is good too.staffs are working diligently and very attentive. Food is full of varieties. One minor thing is the Singing… some guests’ birthday celebration was conducted by the staffs, the chorus was … kind of terrible… whatever you do, just don’t ask them to sing for you!  It was a perfect stay for a 8 days of vacationing!
