A great boutique hotel outside of Kandy. The property is located within a natural tropical setting surrounded by beautiful vegatstion and with great views of the distant mountains of central Sri Lanka. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The central villa is beautifully maintained and reflects another long past era. The pool is a wonderful retreat after a long day visiting the local sights. The rooms are well maintained, modern and a great retreat. Finally both the breakfast and dinner selections were excellent.

This is a beautiful oasis, a great place to get away from the business of Sri Lanka! It’s 22 acres of lovely gardens & great facilities. The staff are very friendly & professional & the owner David is a charming gentleman. The food is great & the sound track really suited us Boomers.

This place is an amazing find. So incredibly beautiful - like an oasis but only 30 mins from the hustle and bustle of Kandi. We chose it for a quick stopover before heading on the train to Ella but actually wished we were staying there for a full week instead of 2 nights. Rooms were fantastic, the pool was so lovely to swim in while looking out on the hills but the best thing was the staff. It’s like they knew exactly what you needed all the time. The owner did an amazing job of thinking through all of the details and it was so lovely to meet both him and his five very lovely schnauzers! I can’t wait to come back. A true find. If you have the chance, go!

Staying at The Tree Flame Estate & Hotel has been one of the most heartwarming experiences of my life. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a home filled with love and care. From day one, my sister and I felt embraced like family. Every request was met with genuine kindness, always putting us first. Angelo, the General Manager, was like a big brother—protective, caring, and always making sure we were happy. Doc, with his calm and soothing nature, made the stay peaceful and joyful. And Nandana was like another brother, always there with warmth and attention. The highlight of our stay was the goodbye dinner—a top-notch, heartfelt gesture that made us feel so special. It was the perfect way to close an unforgettable journey. This place completely changed how I see Sri Lanka—it made me want to return just to relive this experience again. If I could give more than 10 stars, I would. We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip to Sri Lanka while visiting the sites around Kandy. This boutique hotel is perfect in every way. The staff is attentive and kind, the setting is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the rooms are uniquely and beautifully decorated and so comfortable. We enjoyed going for walks on the path that goes around the perimeter of the property and then coming back for a swim. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious. We liked coming back to this peaceful oasis after spending our days in the bustling towns nearby.

Relaxing and invigorating. The hotel is set among palm trees with views to the hills over Kandy. After a swim, we relaxed around the stunning pool and had freshly baked cake and cups of tea. The food is delicious, and the kitchen cooks everything to order. Bedrooms are comfortable and stylish. David, our charming host, has filled the library and sitting area with beautiful artworks and curios. Staff are warm and helpful. Can't recommend highly enough.

We spent 3 nights at this beautiful boutique hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. David’s eye for interior design, delightful and attentive staff and delicious food makes this a very special place indeed. We wouldn’t use love to come back!

The Place - Super Clean!!!! The entire lay out of the property has been perfectly planned and constructed. Clean!!! Rooms, toiletries. The staff of Ranjan, Lahiru, Herath ensured that our stay was extremely comfortable with their warmth and affection. Food . Lovely!!!!!! Super taste. Great Show!!! Thanks a ton
