The g Hotel & Spa

I recently stayed at the G Hotel. While there were some wonderful aspects, it didn’t quite live up to the glamorous impression it gives online. The location is a bit away from town and not truly on the lake as described. About half the rooms overlook the parking lot, which is disappointing. The foyer feels more like a three-star hotel — not the luxury welcome I expected. The hallways to the rooms were poorly lit, and the carpet made it difficult to roll luggage, even with a great suitcase. On the positive side, the staff was absolutely amazing. Every person we encountered went above and beyond, delivering genuine five-star service. The hotel rooms themselves were spacious, stylish, and very comfortable — really lovely once you got past the initial impression. What stood out to me is that just down the road, the Galmont Hotel lobby was exquisite — exactly the kind of first impression I would have expected from the G Hotel. If the G could match its service and rooms with a lobby and setting to match its image, it would truly be a standout

Good service nice staff and location

My husband brought me here for my birthday as a surprise, I can honestly say a surprise it was, all thanks to Rachel and her crew.  From the minute we arrived Joanna (& another girl, didn't get her name) on reception were so helpful,straight forward and so nice, also not forgetting the lads in reception who were so happy to take our bags and when leaving asked if we needed valet. When we got to our room it was absolutely stunning, Rachel went above and beyond to make sure my birthday was one to remember, no detail left untouched, so kind and unexpected. Lovely little treats and the welcome treat bag is a lovely touch. We went for casual dining, a table reserved by the window and the food was  absolutely amazing, so I can only imagine what the fine dining would be like. Francesca & Diana (hope i have their names right) we're just a pleasure to have serving us. Everything was perfect. Yet again without mentioning anything to the girls, they came down with desert and a candle. We came back to our room to a lovely turn down service, with some more treats. Not expected at all. Breakfast the next morning, yet again the experience was just fabulous, the food was just amazing, the smoked Trout and Cavair is a must. Every part of our stay was catered to us, which is amazing. The staff and food are the making of the hotel, and really give you the 5 star experience. Highly recommend. Yet again we cannot thank the staff enough for such an amazing experience.

Honestly the best experience I’ve ever had in a hotel. Told them in advance that I was planning on proposing to my girlfriend and they pulled out all the stops. Upgraded room, free Prosecco, decorated the room, chef compliments during dinner. If I could give it more stars I would and Davydas the manager really looked after us, legend. Will defo be back

My partner and I stayed here for a weekend, and we couldn't have asked for a better trip! Our receptionist was absolutely perfect, going so far as to upgrade our room for us and include a glass of prosecco each when we told her we were celebrating - not to mention how amazingly nice she was! The rooms were stunning, the food was incredible, the bar was so good we went there every day, and the spa was divine! Only a five-minute bus ride from the town and right on the coast - absolutely recommend!
