The White House Hotel

During my National Day trip to Shenzhen, I unexpectedly stumbled upon this hotel on my way back and was pleasantly surprised! The hotel is located in the heart of Guilin's city center and the Two Rivers and Four Lakes scenic area, offering an excellent location with breathtaking and beautiful scenery. The hotel service was warm, thoughtful, and attentive. The room was spacious, bright, comfortable, and elegant, with a distinctive Republic of China style. It's a photogenic spot in itself, truly beautiful and worth taking your time to appreciate. The breakfast was quite rich and tasty too. Definitely recommended, and worth staying again.

I came here due to its reputation, and the overall民國 (Republic of China) style is very beautiful. It's great for a one-night stay to experience it, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay. Pros: The room is beautiful, spacious, and well-cleaned. The toilet is automatic. Staff are responsive. Cons: 1. The jacuzzi only works as a regular tub, no massage function. 2. Breakfast selection is very limited. 3. It's quite humid; clothes left in the room always feel damp, and there's an indescribable old house smell. 4. The velvet headboard shows signs of age (and head grease). 5. The back of the hairdryer was covered in dust.

The room was quite spacious, the bathtub was nice, and they can provide a baby crib. However, there was no separate walk-in shower, which felt a bit unsafe. The hotel has EV charging stations, and a side door leads directly to Ronghu Lake. The breakfast was mediocre; you're better off heading out for some local rice noodles. The café was full of influencers taking photos, and they even wandered into the hotel hallways to take pictures, which was quite disruptive.

Right next to the former residence of Bai Chongxi, this is a must-stay for fans of Republican-era charm! The front desk thoughtfully upgraded us to a suite this time. The high-ceilinged living room, vintage lamps, and red and white checkered floor tiles all exuded quality. My child was all smiles next to the French glass doors. The large bathtub was fantastic, and the view from the window was lovely. It has both a sense of history and modern comfort, making it a perfect choice for families with kids!

Absolutely, unequivocally fantastic! This might be the best hotel experience I've had in China in recent years, and the value for money is unbeatable. The service was attentive, warm, and genuinely human, which really brightened my mood. The environment is beautifully quaint (surprisingly luxurious, I'd say 😂). Fans of Bai Xianyong might even get a glimpse into some potential inspirations for his texts. I've already recommended it to all my family and friends, and everyone's like, 'We absolutely have to go to Guilin, even if we do nothing else, just to stay at Bai Gongguan!' 🥰 I loved it so much, I'll definitely be back!

Bai Gong Guan left a wonderful impression on our Guilin trip. The retro Republic of China-era architecture has a unique charm, and the courtyard is quiet and elegant, creating a great atmosphere. The hotel is right next to Rong Lake, making it very convenient for sightseeing, and an evening stroll by the lake is particularly pleasant. Our room had good natural light, making for a very comfortable stay. The service was also excellent; the staff were friendly and gentle, and check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, we were very satisfied with everything.

The front desk service was excellent. They guided us to our room during check-in and had already turned on the air conditioning. The next evening, I forgot my makeup remover wipes, and the front desk was very helpful. After checking in, I added the concierge on WeChat, and they were always quick to respond to any issues. The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located right by the Two Rivers and Four Lakes. There's a small gate that leads right out for a post-dinner stroll. Our lake view room faced trees instead of a street, making it exceptionally quiet. I also noticed some international guests staying there. I highly recommend staying here for a short trip and some great photo opportunities.

This hotel is nestled within the grounds of the Ronghu Hotel, boasting a fantastic environment. There's a small gate nearby that leads to Ronghu Park, offering beautiful scenery without the crowds. The hotel itself is stunning and distinctive. The lobby features what appear to be genuine antique furniture pieces. The vintage lamps, metal rotary phone, velvet sofa and curtains, and even the room doors all exude a strong Republic of China era ambiance – opulent and luxurious. Indeed, it does show some signs of age; it's not going to have smart controls for lights and curtains like a newly opened hotel. The wooden door isn't as smooth, some floorboards are slightly warped, and the gap between the shower and bathtub isn't perfectly cleanable. However, I still believe this hotel is worth staying at, which is why I extended my stay after the first night. The front desk staff were warm and friendly, helping me upgrade to a suite. When I couldn't find the laundry room, they personally showed me the way. You can also add them on WeChat for any inquiries. The hotel has a limited number of rooms, so breakfast isn't exceptionally lavish, but with various porridges, pastries, vegetables, fruits, freshly ground coffee, milk, yogurt, soy milk, juice, bacon, sausages, small pastries, and freshly cooked rice noodles, it's actually more than enough. This breakfast restaurant also serves as an afternoon tea spot, with balcony seating offering direct views of Ronghu Lake. There's also another coffee shop with a great atmosphere, attracting many young women for photo opportunities.
