Regala Skycity Hotel by Regal Hotels

This is my second stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient. Last time I stayed because I was going to AsiaWorld-Expo, and this time it was for an early flight to the airport. I'm very satisfied with both the environment and the location. I'll definitely stay here again if needed.

I chose the Regala SkyCity Hotel for its proximity during a layover in Hong Kong. Since I arrived late at night, I initially thought the shuttles had stopped running and planned to walk. However, after walking out of the airport, I found there was no pedestrian walkway and had to turn back. Luckily, I managed to catch the last shuttle bus. A heads-up for anyone planning to walk: make sure you navigate your way through the inside of the airport! That said, the shuttle is very convenient—only a five-minute ride. The front desk staff were very friendly. However, perhaps due to the sheer number of rooms, the cleanliness was quite disappointing. There was stray hair left uncleaned in both the bathroom and the toilet, and water stains were all over the faucet. Since I had to head back to the airport early the next morning, I didn't bother making a fuss about it.

Room: It's clean, but as expected in Hong Kong, it's small. It's perfectly fine for one person, but it might be a challenge for two or more. Breakfast: I didn't use it. Shuttle bus: The shuttle runs frequently between the airport and the hotel. The bus stop is also easy to find. Between Tung Chung Station and the hotel, it runs once an hour. If the timing doesn't work out, I recommend taking bus S1. The bus stop is nearby. Connection with Disneyland: There are only two buses in the morning and one at night, which might be a bit inconvenient. Other: The gym is quite spacious. I particularly enjoyed watching planes fly by right in front of it. I didn't use the pool.

The room isn't huge, but it has everything you need. It's great value for money for a quick overnight stay when you're on the road. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation, and it's quiet at night. Highly recommend!

The service attitude was poor, and the processes were rigid, completely not guest-oriented. The front desk staff clearly displayed arrogance! The room was tiny. I had one checked luggage, and there was absolutely no space to open it in the room, nowhere at all!

The room was tiny, and as soon as I opened the door, there was a damp, musty smell. The air quality was really bad. Running the AC for ventilation barely helped, and if I turned the AC up too high, it would vibrate with the bathroom glass, making a rattling noise. I had to turn it off at night to get some sleep. I didn't encounter the bed bug issue mentioned in previous reviews, but I still brought my own hygienic sheets, duvet cover, and pillowcases. It turns out it was absolutely necessary; the bedding definitely felt neglected, and you could tell it was a bit dirty just by touching it. I highly recommend bringing your own hygiene kit. Flushing the toilet was incredibly powerful; water splashed everywhere, soaking my toilet seat cover. Extremely annoying... The toilet paper and tissues were ridiculously thin, so bring your own. The only upside was that the shower had incredibly strong water pressure and super hot water, which made for a great shower (. Checking in on the 2nd took over ten minutes because the lobby was packed due to a holiday. On the 3rd, the bus to Tung Chung at noon was completely full; it seemed to coincide with a group of kids taking the SAT. The staff led us to the bus stop, and we waited for over ten minutes for a bus that was also packed, sos. The hotel's shuttle to Tung Chung only comes once an hour. If you can't wait, you can try catching the Marriott's shuttle across the street. It's the same coming back from Tung Chung; the two hotels are opposite each other. The Marriott's bus is less crowded and faster, while the Regal's bus takes a detour to pick up and drop off people at the Regala. The biggest advantage of the Regal is its direct access to the airport and its proximity to AsiaWorld-Expo. It's also cheaper than the Marriott, but for this price, the quality is even worse than some budget hotels... Choose the Regal for a short stay, but if you're staying for more than three days, definitely go for the Marriott.

I stayed at this hotel in late August. At that time, there was an event, so it was incredibly crowded. Check-in took almost an hour, dinner had a long queue, and it took forever for the food to come out. The next day, breakfast on the G floor was packed. However, this time during the National Day holiday, it was much better. Although there were many people checking in, they quickly opened more check-in counters, with up to 8 at one point. Check-in was completed in just over ten minutes. I booked two rooms, and when checking in, I was told there were no adjacent rooms on the same floor, so they arranged them on the same side but on different floors (one above, one below). After checking in, I found one of the rooms had a strong odor. After feedback, they arranged a very nice room, and it was on the same floor and very close to the other room. A big thank you to the customer service lady who resolved the issue. Regarding breakfast on the second day, there were plenty of seats on the G floor, and fewer people than in late August, so the experience was good. Also, the hotel offers express check-out. If it's busy the next day, you can just drop your room card into a small box at the front desk. Additionally, if you need an adapter, you can borrow one from the front desk with a 50 RMB deposit. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to and from the airport (see image below for the schedule), picking up and dropping off at stations 9-12 for hotel buses in Terminal 1. Moreover, the rooftop garden of the hotel is lovely; you can go up to see it and get a bird's-eye view of the sea.
