Hotel Royal

I booked an Executive King Room, and the hotel upgraded me to a suite, which I was thrilled about. The hotel is located halfway up Guia Hill, right next to the Grand Lapa Hotel. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Guia Fortress and Lighthouse, so the location is excellent. Major attractions like the Ruins of St. Paul's and St. Dominic's Church are also just a 10-15 minute walk away. Just a short stroll downhill takes you to Guia Hill Lane, a popular spot for photos. There are also a few local eateries nearby with delicious food. The front desk staff was very friendly and check-in was quick. I had cash for the deposit, but they said Alipay was fine, and for check-out, I just needed to hand in my key card at the front desk. The deposit was refunded that same afternoon. The cakes in the hotel lobby were also delicious. The hygiene was very good; aside from the air conditioning being a bit noisy, everything else was great. Thumbs up! Oh, and another thing... all the power outlets in the hotel are universal, so no adapters are needed, and they even provide cables that directly plug into USB-C ports, which is very convenient.

The hotel's location is pretty good, right next to a National Geographic网红 (influencer hotspot) which was truly stunning! It's also quite close to the Ruins of St. Paul's; a leisurely stroll gets you there quickly. Getting around by bus is fairly convenient. The bus to Taipa Village is nearby. If you're going to and from the border gate, you'll need to walk a bit to catch the bus. A taxi takes about 30 minutes and costs around 60 MOP according to Gaode Maps, which is acceptable. However, the hotel's interior facilities and decor are indeed quite old. You have to ask for disposable toothpaste, toothbrushes, and slippers, and they don't provide combs or soap. At best, it's a four-star hotel, not luxurious like a five-star. But for less than 300 a night, what more can you ask for, right? Haha. The staff are all very friendly and most of them speak Mandarin.

The 2-meter-wide bed was super big, and the bedding was clean and tidy. The room was quiet and also equipped with a fridge, a safe, and a DVD player. Downstairs there's a street garden with a fountain and statues. There are many unique small eateries nearby, as well as a 24-hour supermarket. Lots of buses are available, giving off a local Macau vibe. The hotel breakfast was very rich, and the restaurant service was also excellent. Extremely good value for money.

We stayed in room 713, which looked out over Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion and Vasco da Gama Garden. Bottled water in the room is only provided upon request by calling the front desk, though there is a water dispenser by the elevator. The shower had great water pressure and temperature, but there was an unpleasant odor coming from the drain. There’s a 7-Eleven right outside the hotel, and several bus routes nearby make it very convenient to get anywhere.

- The hotel is located on the peninsula with an unbeatable location. It’s right across from that viral photo spot of the Grand Lisboa, and attractions like the Ruins of St. Paul's and Rua do Cunha are all within walking distance. - The service is top-notch. The doormen were right there to help open car doors and handle our luggage, and the front desk staff are multilingual, making communication completely effortless. - Considering the location, service, and facilities, the value for money is absolutely off the charts!

The room was nice, but the check-in service at the front desk was just okay. All other services were great. However, the shower gel bottle was very dirty.

Our overall stay was fantastic, and I especially want to thank the lady at the front desk. She was warm and attentive during check-in, spoke softly and politely, and patiently helped us with any questions we had, all while being efficient and prompt. Her attention to detail was a nice touch; she proactively reminded us of important information, which made us feel very welcome. The room was clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the amenities were good. Thanks to the excellent service from the front desk lady, our entire trip experience was significantly enhanced. Highly recommend!

The hotel facilities are great, the room is clean and not damp, and you don't need a converter for the power outlets. It's also just about a 10-minute walk to the Ruins of St. Paul's.

The room was generally clean and comfortable, offering excellent value for money. The view from the window depends on your luck; you might end up with an old building view. It's conveniently located within walking distance to scenic spots and attractions. The restaurant on the second floor is fantastic and well worth a visit.
