Safe would not work - maintenance tried multiple times before replacing. Door safety lock (additional to the door lock) was bent and would not work 10:40pm there was a false fire alarm. You owe us something.

Excellent stay. Perfect location. Amazing rooftop bar.

When we travel to Milwaukee to see family, we always stay at the Kempton Journeyman Hotel. It is located in the revitalized 3rd ward, stylish and comfortable. Love the rooftop bar!

Staff was all friendly and helpful. Clean, comfortable rooms. Great location. Free happy hour cocktails were a nice bonus to go with the fantastic pizza that was recommended!

Staff was generous with their time, excellent in their recommendations and responsive within the hotel. Property was a delight. We were able to be upgraded through our IHG status which made our stay delightful for my wife and daughter. Hotel atmosphere was energetic. People coming and going to the roof top lounge, lobby pool table or managers reception. Tre Rivali, the onsite restaurant was great for both breakfast and late night drinks. With Ben & Jerry’s across the street, my daughter was delighted.

Terrifying experience and awful management. I'll start with the terrifying - we woke up at 3AM because of the smell of smoke. I looked out the window, quiet street, I checked our hallway, clear. I called the front desk and the person on duty repeatedly mumbled that "something was being shredded and maybe some paper got caught, but there is no fire." The smell got stronger and stronger (we were on the 6th floor in a room with windows that were sealed shut). Needless to say, we never went back to sleep. When we checked out the next morning I mentioned this to the people at the desk, they had no idea and nothing on record about the incident. Another guest at the desk stated they also woke from the smoke, on the 3rd floor. The desk people just shrugged and ignored the concern. We should have known this would be a lousy hotel when we checked in. My husband and I arrived at the hotel having booked through the American Express Platinum Travel platform. We had requested a late check-out upon booking and the hotel immediately responded "if available." When I asked about the late checkout, the desk clerk, said "you booked through *******, so that's not an option." I showed him the email that the hotel sent, via Amex, and he said that Amex books through ******* - Not true! VERY INEXPERIENCED staff on every level. I do NOT recommend staying - EVER.

This place is weird. The hotel is relatively clean so I can’t give it 2 stars….the staff is a little odd, aside from Yesenia and CJ in the restaurant and Luis and Matt at the bell desk/front entry everyone else is pretty odd and lacking real customer service. The roof top bartenders are pretty rude….not to mention incredibly slow. It’s nearly impossible to find any type of snacks near by. It was even impossible to get a bottle of sparkling water in the hotel after 8pm, the front desk didn’t know San Pellegrino is a sparkling water. So I wouldn’t really recommend even coming to Milwaukee as it seems like the town is completely vacant so I guess if you were forced to have to be here the kimpton would be acceptable to stay it. Don’t even come to Milwaukee though, strange place, the entire town is dead, almost every service employee including most the kimpton seem to be a bit put out when it comes to actually providing customer service.

Beautiful boutique hotel, perfect location, easy walk to a lot of restaurants! Very professional and friendly staff. We will definitely come back!

Our experience one-night at the Kimpton Journeyman was perfect. We've stayed at a handful of Kimptons around the US (and even one in Paris) so we dig the overall modern-boutique vibe, generally hopping atmosphere, and, of course, the signature complimentary wine hour! We got all of that during our one-night stay. It's perfectly situated in the Historic Third Ward with easy walking access to anywhere you'd want to go in that part of Milwaukee. Our room was nice on a high floor with a decent view of the surrounding buildings. Everyone at wine-hour was friendly and seemed happy to see us. I enjoyed the wine...the snacks part may have been a little less in terms of offerings from what we experienced elsewhere, but halfway through my glass of wine I'm pretty sure I didn't care...it was a pre-dinner situation anyway.) There was always a lot of people and energy in the lobby throughout our stay. They have a very popular roof-top bar which attracts lots of people from outside of the hotel. We loved it here and would definitely stay again!
