Dunbar House Inn and Event Property

My husband and I stayed in #31, SugarPine I think it was called. I am fairly certain it's the best room in the house and I am already making return plans for a future Fall for a ladies trip with my mom and other female family members. The room and bathroom were large and very clean (this is the first time I had ever seen my husband walk barefoot in a place that wasn't our home!), bed comfy, and a great little bistro set on a small deck off the room. It was very quiet at night! The rest of the house is set up for max relaxation - from the sitting areas on the wraparound porch, garden seating, living room with library and dining with all sorts of coffees and teas and snacks. This was our first stay at a REAL B&B, and I'm sad we couldn't stay longer, especially since we missed breakfast. Will DEFINITELY be back!!

This is one of our best experiences. The property is so beautiful and we truly appreciate the effects the owner and their team put on the landscaping. We just sat on the beautiful garden, sipping a glass of wine, and reflecting how beautiful the life is. The breakfast is delicious and elegantly served.

Wonderful place to stay. Easy walking access to Main Street shopping and restaurants. Wonderful home cooked breakfast included. Historical feel with modern conveniences.

Lovely inn that has been updated while maintaining its original charm. Grounds are perfect for hanging out with a nice glass of wine. Close to town with easy parking. Breakfast is made for you and delicious!

Fantastic location! It was a quiet and friendly atmosphere. The room was clean and specious. We were able to enjoy the grounds in the evening .. very relaxing. Breakfast was wonderful served on the patio … cooked to order.

Great location to walk to town, wineries shops restaurants. Nice grounds to relax on porch. Breakfast was Amazing! Room were cute and comfortable. Whole experience was worth the price.

Romance in a quaint old setting, that is what my wife and I had for our anniversary. The rooms are an elegant admixture of antiquity, modernity, and hospitality. I'd recommend this place highly, Yet add the magic of the small (wine) centric town of Murphys, and you have a state of mind as well as a place to stay.

Very quiet romantic weekend Sierra foothill Gold country in Murphy’s. Decided to spend thanksgiving in the little town of Murphy’s. Had a wonderful dinner at the Murphy’s hotel and restaurant. Do recommend making reservation as early as possible before Thanksgiving. The room was top notch fresh clean just the feel of an old Victorian B&B, the menu for breakfast that they cook on site was incredible. All you can eat. The concierge were very helpful knowledgeable. And Michael, the owner really good host very knowledgeable of the town. strongly recommend looking at the concert series at the Ironstone amphitheater for music in the vineyard, top-tier bands just overall a lot of good restaurants to eat.

This beautiful old house from the 1880’s, expertly restored by the owner, is so comfortable and inviting! Located in the California Gold Country with charming houses, interesting history and bucolic geography with green rolling hills and gorgeous old trees line the landscape. We have stayed several times over the years because of the walking distance to all the shopping and restaurants. Also, the hosts make you feel so welcomed and provide a family atmosphere along with the best breakfast available with a good selection of comfort foods. This place is a gem for people who love California Gold Rush history, beautiful landscapes, truly friendly people, fine diverse restaurants, shopping, old architecture, antiques and a relaxed atmosphere. This is a destination you will enjoy for many years!
