Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

The room was really old and felt very strange – unusually high ceilings, and the space was abnormally large and dim. I booked a tower room, expecting a new high-rise, but it turned out to be in a creepy, century-old building (not the main hotel building). Huge disappointment! The location wasn't great either; even though it's in the heart of Philadelphia, it felt a bit dirty and run-down.

Upon entering, I found there was no drinking water, and the bedsheets had noticeable stains, which immediately brought down the overall experience. Great location right in the city center, and right across from Reading Terminal Market, which has tons of food and fresh produce. The service was efficient; even with a conference happening, check-in wasn't a long wait. The facilities are well-maintained and don't look old, and the cleanliness was excellent. Overall, it's a great choice for a business trip or vacation in Philadelphia.

The valet parking is ridiculously expensive at $72 a day, and the service is pretty mediocre too. Save yourself the trouble and stay far away from this hotel.
