The Dwight D Hotel

My wife and I are world travelers (five continents), and, simply stated, this was best hotel experience ever. If you are planning to visit Philadelphia, I strongly recommend that you stay here. Book well in advance, because the rooms are in high demand. We spent four nights at the Dwight D in room 3F, a beautiful room overlooking a quiet block on South 16th Street. The proprietors, Vittoria and Ken, are an engaging and helpful couple who will advise their guests about the attractions in the neighborhood and beyond. A conversation with them is much more comfortable than dealing with a concierge at a typical hotel. Every detail of the room was carefully chosen for our comfort. There was an iPad bedside, filled with well-organized guidance to the city. The feeling/vibe was quiet, private, comfortable, and luxurious. The location is excellent. In five minutes, you can walk to Rittenhouse Square and encounter several appealing restaurants on Locust Street en route. Dining and libations are available on South 16th Street on the same short block as the Dwight D. We walked to the Center City tourist attractions (Independence Hall, Chinatown, Reading Terminal Market, etc.) without difficulty. It was evident that the conventional, chain hotels are located in grittier neighborhoods where we felt less comfortable walking, especially at night. We quickly grew to value the quiet and genteel neighborhood around the Dwight D. My wife and I are very happy that we chose to experiment with this city house hotel. Our comfortable stay was well worth the price. After this experience, we could not possibly return to the drab and bare-bones chain hotels. You must stay at the Dwight D, preferably for several days, to appreciate the experience that I have tried to describe in this review.

The DD is perfect! Great location to shops…restaurants…Rittenhouse Square. Rooms & lobby are beautifully decorated…comfortable & immaculate! The owners are always available for questions & local recommendations…The ideal place to stay while in Philly!

This was our second stay at the Dwight D Hotel and once again, it was a wonderful experience. The staff goes over and beyond to welcome you and to make sure your stay is perfect. The hotel is gorgeous with beautiful artwork and incredible attention to detail. The amenities are high end - luxury to the max without feeling stuffy. I absolutely love this hotel.

Truly wonderful experience at The Dwight D. The hotel itself has a wonderful atmosphere that feels like you're in a home - there is an inviting lounge area downstairs (with some amazing tea that I could not stop drinking), a lovely outdoor garden, and a general cozy feeling from it being a boutique hotel. We adored our room with its glorious bathtub, and the overnight oats on the breakfast menu ....the best I've ever had. The location is excellent as well, a short walking distance from soooo many great places. However, I would be remiss if I did not write about Vittoria and Ken and how they ARE the experience of this hotel. They put such a high level of care into each guest's experience, it is genuinely incredible. They go the extra step in every direction you turn. They were kind, supportive, and gracious our entire stay. They have cultivated a beautiful place at The Dwight D. I hope to be so lucky as to return again soon.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We were greeted by the owners Vittoria and Ken with open arms. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and gave us so many suggestions on places to go. The location was perfect and we loved our room! The atmosphere was so peaceful.

Wonderful hotel, it feels like you are staying with friends. Room was incredible: clean, comfortable, wonderful amenities. The overview of the neighborhood that Vittoria gave us when we arrived was extremely helpful as it was our first time in the area. Could not recommend this property more, and we will be back.
