Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Portage la Prairie

Perfect hotel for families, even having a waterslide in house. Near to a few good check-in locations such as the biggest Owl in Canada or the biggest Coca-Cola bottle.

Second time staying at this particular Microtel and had a great experience just like the first time! Highly recommend staying at Microtel.

Very friendly staff who were welcoming upon arrival. The room was clean and comfortable, everything you could ask for. I liked the location on the highway so I could get back on the road right away.

Great stay. No issues

Overall, we had a good stay. The hotel was clean, and the pool area was very nice. Our kids had a great time and really enjoyed it. The biggest issue was the Wi-Fi. We were never able to connect the TV to the hotel’s internet. We asked for help several times, but the problem was never fixed, so we had to use our phone’s mobile hotspot during our entire stay. The staff was a mix of experiences. Only two employees were truly friendly and helpful. Most of the others did not seem very welcoming. We also felt the hotel was understaffed, as there never seemed to be enough employees available to assist guests. We stayed for two nights. Breakfast on the first morning was good and had more options than on the second morning. Unfortunately, there were no waffles available to make, and there was no fresh fruit, so we had to buy our own fruit for breakfast the next day. One thing we really appreciated was being able to use the breakfast area in the evening to enjoy a pizza we had purchased. It was also nice that complimentary coffee was available at all times. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because the hotel was clean and the pool was great for families. However, improving the Wi-Fi support, breakfast selection, and customer service would make the experience much better.

This hotel is the newest, and nicest, in Portage la Prairie. It is located on the Long Plain First Nation, right on the southwest side of Crescent Lake. It is visible from the Trans-Canada Highway. They keep this hotel up very nicely. The rooms are newer, nice and spacious, the pool and hot tub are great, and the breakfast in the morning is really good, what they have available. I have now stayed at all three main hotels in Portage la Prairie, and this is the best one hands down.

Stayed here with several other family members for a wedding nearby. Our room was wonderful, the staff were friendly and we had a great time. Breakfast was very good. I realized after I left I had left an item behind. I was able to get in touch with the hotel right away and they found my item and were holding it until my family could pick it up. Would stay again!

From the moment we arrived, our stay exceeded every expectation. The reception staff were genuinely warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful, making check-in quick and effortless. Their outstanding customer service set the tone for a wonderful visit. The hotel itself is spotless, beautifully maintained, and very modern. Our room was exceptionally clean, stylish, and equipped with incredibly comfortable beds that gave us one of the best nights' sleep we've had while traveling. The amenities were fantastic! The pool was clean and inviting, the hot tub was the perfect place to relax, and the water slide was an absolute blast for both kids and adults. It added so much fun to our stay. (The steps could have been a bit cleaner, looked like some black mold in the corners from standing water but nothing too bad) Breakfast was another highlight—fresh, delicious, and with an excellent variety of options. It was the perfect way to start the day. Perhaps some bagels to offer with the cream cheese but all in all, filling options. Everything about this hotel reflected quality and pride. Between the modern accommodations, amazing amenities, delicious breakfast, and exceptional customer service, this was truly a five-star experience. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable, and enjoyable getaway!

A nice motel with good facilities. My children enjoyed the pool and waterslide. Slightly off Highway 1 but not bad for the experience.
