Perry Lane Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Savannah

My sisters and I spent one night at the Perry lane hotel and had a fabulous time. The room was perfect and the hotel restaurant was excellent! I would highly recommend! The rooftop bar and pool area is a great place to relax any time of the day. They have a man who plays the piano in the library and he is wonderful.

The staff at the Perry Lane Hotel are friendly and helpful, right from the time we pulled up outside until we (sadly) left. The hotel is in a great location and we never got our car out over our 3 day stay, we could walk everywhere we planned to go. The hotel and our room were very clean, and everything was working. We had two breakfasts and a lunch in the dining room, and we tried the bar on the roof which has excellent drinks and a great view. The food was good and the wait staff were friendly and efficient. They should put a little card in each room, explaining how the light switches and dimmers work, and explaining how to operate the shower controls. We were baffled by those. The mattresses have a ridiculous, soft, squishy pillow top offering no support to your spine, pelvis or shoulders. I woke up each morning with a throbbing pain in my back, and needing several cups of coffee to get going. Other than this, our room was comfortable and quiet. I would also prefer at least one chair in the room (we had a deluxe king room). There was no noise from traffic or other guests, and we had a nice view out the window. The climate control was precise and quiet, too. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay here again!

Starting with the arrival, there are two buildings and when I arrived at ~7pm, there were no hotel employees outside directing me, so I walked into the south building and was aimlessly walking around for a few minutes trying to find the check-in counter - at which point another group of guests kindly directing me to the north building. Check-in experience was fine, nothing special, though I had noted I wanted late check-out per my Platinum Elite benefit, which was not inputted properly and caused confusion at check-out. The room was okay, mattress was comfy but thought the design was much more reminiscent of a nice Autograph than a Luxury Collection hotel purported to be the nicest hotel in Savannah. The faux leather wall covering in our room was really scratched up, which took away from the high-end aesthetic. Also the room temp was set on 60F, which was an uncomfortable start to our stay. The bathroom, however, was impeccable. Truly no comments, I was really impressed. The lobby design was nice and we enjoyed a few drinks at the Peregrin rooftop bar. Overall, it was a fine stay for a few nights, but not particularly impressive. We ended up extending our trip and moved to the Bardo, which was a much better experience.

We had a fantastic 3-night stay (Monday through Thursday) with our best friends from college, who were celebrating their 42nd anniversary. We plan an annual getaway together and always really research hotels and restaurants in the location we choose. We were SO PLEASED with our selection of Perry Lane! We received a very warm (and organized) welcome, with glasses of champagne at check-in. Beautiful furnishings and decor, in darker, elegant colors. Our roomy spot in the tower building, on the 5th floor was VERY quiet, with a great bed, wonderful shower, quiet and quick elevators. A+. RIGHT around the corner is a high end convenience store which was so convenient for hummus, fruits and cheeses for the room. And we had great drinks at the bar right next to the tower, where we were allowed to take them outside to enjoy them. We also quickly visited the hotel's rooftop bar one night after dinner and it is beautiful. We found the staff's hospitality consistent and generous. They gave us chilled bottles of water whenever we requested them, as we left for or returned from our extensive walks around the "warm" city. We brought some good wines from NJ and TN and the front desk was so accommodating, providing us wine glasses each night for our tasting in the library, before we walked to dinner. The concierge and all of the front desk staff truly seemed happy to see us enjoying ourselves. Another plus? The hotel has a private car that will drive you within a 2-3 mile radius (which takes you to a lot of places in Savannah)...it is first come, first served. We were VERY glad we stayed at Perry Lane. The location cannot be beat. It is on a short block and is walkable to the river, to Forsythe Park, to the museums......everywhere we wanted to spend time. Two out of three nights we were able to walk to dinner. I highly recommend this hotel to couples, especially during the week. We had an outstanding experience, with only adults on site when we were there and it was peaceful, elegant, friendly and stress-free.

Hotel atmosphere is nice. Attention to detail is another thing. No consideration for problems reported. Front desk staff just says sorry with no assistance. Misguided on car service availability after calling the front desk. When we showed up there was no car service available it was full and next ride would have made us late so we had to pay for Uber instead. Room smelled like a pool. Expensive silver jewelry tarnished from pool water chemicals. Offered nail polish remover to fix. 24/7 room service was closed at 10pm when I wanted to order something. Tablet in room not working. Was not on charger correctly. Valet car not retrieved per text. Valet stated mix up on key tags. Charged for mini bar item when nothing was consumed. Not notified other than monitoring credit card expenditure’s.
