We returned to Savasi resort exactly a year after the last visit. After visiting Fiji for more than 25 years, it has to be good for us to return – and it is! Sometimes a return visit isn’t as new and shiny, but this was like coming home. Savasi resort is like the old Fiji, authentic warm and welcoming – but with the luxury of an up-market resort. We found the resort to be more affordable than some of the other top end resorts. - All meals are included which takes any stress off the finances. - Every villa has its own swimming pool (serenity the ship accommodation, has a spa pool on its deck instead.) - Accommodation faces the ocean or the lagoon, and what a view to wind down and de-stress from busy lives. But of course, what sets this resort apart from the dozens we have stayed at over the years, is the continued warmth & personal attention to detail from the humble & respectful staff. From day one you’re greeted by name & with a smile – how they remember everyone’s names is impressive, & it makes the difference. That is what the feeling of a Fijian “coming home” is and makes you want to return. Without this family of staff & the resort ethos, it would be just another nice resort. It’s a huge Vinaka vakalevu to all…. Restaurant staff - Mila, Isaac, Roberta, Rico, Kele (this team were the best!)…Front of house - Ma, Vili & Priti… Kitchen - Mili & staff…Activities - Eddie & Ady…The hard working housekeeping ladies…Spa - Mita (the Best massage ever)…Groundskeepers…. & Ganga the gardener who grows everything for the resort (he showed us the gardens & they are extremely impressive - you know you're eating fresh). I hope I haven't missed anyone out – the staff are all wonderful. Food was great again this year, the villa was spotlessly cleaned every day, with bed turn down in the evenings. We visited the chocolate factory which was interesting – producing on a small 2 acre block. Was expensive with the transport though. Town is quite big and worth visiting, there are taxis available. The restaurant is a covered open- air style setting, which is wonderful to sit in and gaze out over the ocean. Wine & cocktails were on the expensive side, which saw us buy less than we otherwise would have, but the cocktails are fantastic, & the resorts included morning juices with breakfast, made from scratch are So Good! Staff are very respectful of people's privacy & all efforts are made to keep the surroundings quiet & peaceful. Flying Fiji Airways from NZ, our destination could be booked in one ticket, for the flights through to Savasi return. Booking it all under one ticket meant that the shorter one-hour domestic flight from Nadi up to Savusavu, allowed you to have more luggage weight, than if you booked the shorter flight separately. We accidentally left an item behind & the staff contacted us & helped us arrange to get it home, which we greatly appreciated. Hearing the staff sing Elsa Lei as you leave always leaves a lump in our throats. We will be

What’s not to love? I loved it so much I extended my stay once I arrived. The people, the food, the rooms and the location can’t be matched. First the people. Bula isn’t a word, it’s a way of life. Genuine smiles, a sense of community and desire to make sure every aspect of your stay is the best! The food was some of the best I’ve had at any resort. Breakfast offers a wealth of options. Lunch and dinner always offer multiple choices and I never left a meal hungry. Plus, the views from the dinning room make you want to linger. Each night there was some form of entertainment and if you are lucky enough, your bartender might just be singing as well! The rooms are amazing. I stayed in a Clifftop Villa and after one night I extended for another three. Beds are perfect and I never turned on the AC as the trade winds and fan kept things perfectly comfortable. Waking up each morning, making a cup of coffee and watching the day arrive on my patio was perfect. Really idyllic. Used the Spa twice and loved it. The resort itself is magical. Took a number of walks and explored. Stairways lead to hidden beaches and magical vistas. There are plenty of activities or just spend a perfect afternoon in your villa. I will be back! For sure!

My wife, myself and our 2 daughters (8 & 9) had the pleasure of staying at Savasi island resort for a full week. We stayed in an ocean view villa (Clifftop 5) which has a small infinity pool with a waterfall overlooking the reef. The villa was comfortable, clean and spacious with plenty of room to spread out. This is not your typical resort. It’s small, personal and the staff go out of their way to accommodate any request you may have. The accommodation, comfort and food could compete with any major resort. Each meal is prepared for you personally by the chef and to your liking. As a young family we were all about activities and in particular the water. Eddie took us on snorkelling trips to Split Rock, Natewa Bay and Rainbow Reef. We have travelled a lot for this purpose however have not seen the colours and sheer density of sea life before. The reef days were quiet and without crowds. Eddie our guide and divemaster showed my girls everything special to every reef location. Nakawaga falls was flowing hard the day we went and it was special to be able to experience this all alone without the hoards you usually encounter in these places. We can’t say anything bad about this place. It was exactly what we were looking for, a true Fijian experience. It would not suit many people who are unable to separate themselves from technology. Fortunately there are plenty of other resorts that cater to people with those problems. Fijians must be the happiest people on earth. There are some big personalities amongst the staff, charismatic, gregarious, but always kind. From the outset the staff learned our names and had plenty of time to chat about our day or teach our girls about Fijian culture. From hermit crab races to reef walks they would’ve done anything for my girls. My wife managed to find and step on the only sea urchin on the island. Eddie would have sat there all night plucking out the spines from her foot. The personal interactions with the staff is what separates this place from the rest. There’s plenty of the rest and we’ve done that before, this place is special. If you want to slow down and enjoy a tropical paradise but still feel connected to the surroundings and the local people then this is your ideal destination. My sincerest thanks to the wonderful Fijian staff who made our stay so enjoyable. We have made some lifelong memories here and will return. Vinaka. Ed, Elle, Lucy, Chloe

Arriving in Fiji felt like coming home. We landed at Nadi Airport, and the first thing we saw was a hangar with a sign that said, "Welcome Home." That feeling of being welcomed only deepened when we reached Savasi Island Resort. The staff greeted us with a warm welcome and made us feel like we were part of their family. After an overnight flight from San Francisco, their thoughtful offer of a day room and a delicious breakfast while our villa was being prepared was exactly what we needed to start our trip in paradise. We stayed in the Coral Villa, a private, secluded spot that was breathtaking. The private plunge pool overlooked the lagoon, and the views were simply unforgettable. The villa was spacious, and its seamless indoor-outdoor design made it our own personal sanctuary. At night, we'd drift off to sleep with the peaceful sound of the ocean. Every meal, from breakfast to dinner, was a highlight—a true celebration of Fijian flavors. But the most memorable moment was our 35th wedding anniversary, when we had a private dinner in the seaside grotto. Isaac gave a heartfelt toast about the importance of family and how much it meant to them that we chose to celebrate there. It was a genuinely warm and meaningful experience we'll treasure forever. What makes Savasi special is the staff. They quickly learned our names and preferences, anticipating our needs with such genuine care. They made our stay feel less like a resort and more like being welcomed into a family. We can't thank them enough. A huge shout-out to Ma for getting us so well situated; Isaac for leading the Kava ceremony, his all-around genuine nature, and always having a table ready for our ritual of Gin Rummy and Yahtzee; Eddie for the Kokoa cooking demonstration and being a wonderful activities director; Kele for being a great bartender and a fun person to talk with; the sweetest people ever, Roberta and Mila; Ulamalia, with whom we cherished our morning talks about local sporting events; and Mita for the truly rejuvenating massages. And a special mention to Rico, the fantastic entertainer who was just awesome. We'll never be able to hear "Two Sparrows in a Hurricane" without a giant smile. Each of them made our stay unforgettable. Savasi Island Resort is the perfect destination if you're looking for privacy, luxury, and authentic Fijian hospitality. Every detail is taken care of, so you can just relax and enjoy the magic. We left completely rejuvenated and are already dreaming of our return. Vinaka.

Savasi Island is a little slice of heaven. The villa was spacious and beautiful with a comfortable bed and nice linens and towels. The villa is right on the water. It was a joy to sit on the deck with our small private pool and listen and watch the waves. The island is green with flowers and palm trees swaying in the breeze. The staff is wonderful; helpful, friendly and warm. The stay included 3 meals a day which were all excellent, made with fresh high quality ingredients. I would also recommend. getting a massage. It was excellent. I hope I can return in future years

This trip was one of the most Special that I and my family have experienced all thanks to the most extraordinary island villas and gorgeous people who hosted our stay. Nothing but happy vibes and every little detail was thought of: from the Front of house Ma’ , Rico, Mila, Eddie , the Spa ladies, the amazing Organic Food cooked by the chefs and grown in the island where I met the farmer and had a lovely exchange, housekeeping turn down service.. gardeners, live singer who was just pure Talent, the ambience, environment away from technology yet with just sufficient technology for those who still want to be connected. Private beach, own plunge pool in the room First class meals and drinks - cannot ask for more!! A must go- highly recommended. Not many places that have been kept unspoilt and organic without intrusion. Very unique in that the wilderness is kept with sophistication. Be sure to buy Pure Fiji products from the Office as has the best pricing around! The photos don’t do this place and the Exceptional staff who elevate this experience to the next level any justice.
