Hotel Indigo DIQING MOONLIGHT CITY by IHG

Facilities: Excellent, but since the hotel is located on a hillside, I'd recommend driving or taking a taxi. Walking back uphill can be a bit tiring. Breakfast offered a great variety. Besides Shangri-La's special butter tea, they even had Cantonese spareribs and chicken feet. The fruit was also very sweet. My only minor complaint is that the waffles should come with a side of cream; the InterContinental Lijiang has this, and it's essential for waffles. Service: The service was fantastic. When I was eating fried dried beef with mushrooms at the hotel restaurant, I found a little sand in the mushrooms. I mentioned it, and the hotel manager immediately waived the cost of the fried rice. Interestingly, that fried dried beef with mushrooms was actually the best dish, highly recommended. Also, it happened to be my friend's birthday this trip. I initially wanted to order a cake from the hotel, but since there were only two of us, we wanted a small one so we wouldn't be too full after dinner. The handsome front desk staff member immediately said they provide small cakes for free and even decorated the room, which was wonderful. Many thanks to him (pictured in image 15). Of course, another lovely lady at the front desk also had a great attitude. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Shangri-La (though I might need a break first, the sun was so strong it turned me into a tan person!).

This hotel is probably one of the best in Shangri-La, boasting a prime view of Dukezong Ancient City. The hotel itself is a sight to behold at every turn, and the service is excellent. They called me a day in advance to confirm my room preferences. Lhamo and Cathy, in particular, provided outstanding service. This will definitely be my first choice next time I visit.

The hotel service is excellent, and the staff are very friendly, always trying their best to meet guests' various needs. The hotel's restaurant offers a great view, directly overlooking the entire Dukezong Ancient City. The breakfast is also fantastic and highly recommended. The only drawback is that walking to the ancient city is a bit far, and it's easy to get lost. It would be even better if the hotel could provide a shuttle service to and from the ancient city.

The location is fantastic, and the room balcony is spacious, offering great views of the ancient city. Staying in building 6 felt particularly scenic. At night, the prayer wheels light up beautifully. The room is well-equipped with a humidifier, air purifier, diffused oxygen, air conditioning, and floor heating. The hotel breakfast is also very distinctive, with sweet and savory butter tea, tsampa, 'er si' (rice noodles), 'er kuai' (rice cakes), highland barley noodles, and more. The breakfast hall also has excellent views. Lhamo at the front desk provided excellent service; food deliveries and shuttle buses arrived very quickly. The hotel also offered a free travel photoshoot, and I saw many ladies taking pictures. My only suggestions are for the hotel to open its own specialty gift shop and for the quality of activities to be higher (even if they are paid activities). That's all~

Great location! You can see three scenic spots of Dukezong Ancient City right from the room. The room is a bit small, but it has a full-room oxygen supply, which makes sleeping much more comfortable at night!

The hotel boasts an excellent location overlooking Dukezong Ancient City. Both the accommodation and dining were very satisfactory! Highly recommend!

Located at the highest point of Shangri-La Old Town, offering panoramic views of the ancient city. Every morning, breakfast comes with a stunning vista of the Old Town and Guishan Park right outside the window. The room was comfortable, the service warm and welcoming, and the breakfast spread was rich and varied.

We booked a package deal and were pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade, which we truly appreciated. As an IHG property, the service from the local staff was noticeably warm and excellent, truly impressive. However, the expatriate management seemed a bit lacking – you can interpret that as you wish. Nonetheless, it's still the best hotel in the Old Town, with an undeniable beautiful environment and views. There's no spa, and the complimentary rice noodles could only be reserved for lunch or afternoon, which is inconvenient because during the day, you're almost certainly out exploring Shangri-La, not at the hotel. This was truly unsatisfactory. They also said we couldn't eat sweets in the room, so I didn't dare, and I'm not sure why high altitude would prevent eating sweets in the room. Even if I did, they told me to immediately notify the hotel for cleaning. But they provided many sweet snacks, which I found confusing. All in all, the local service staff were truly great; the warmth of the ethnic minorities really made us feel at home. Breakfast was average, management was average, the views were superb, the room terrace was large, but the room itself was small. We didn't get to try the rice noodles.

Our company trip chose the Indigo Hotel by Shangri-La. The hotel's environment, facilities, and services were all absolutely perfect! 😍 Every staff member at the hotel was incredibly warm, attentive, and provided excellent, thoughtful service! The hotel breakfast was also very rich, and you could see the illuminated night view of Dukezong Ancient City!
