Holiday Inn Express MELBOURNE SOUTHBANK by IHG

Good experience with Holiday Inn Express Melbourne Southbank. Friendly staff and very welcoming. The location is a short walk to Flinders Station. Coming back to stay here again next time.

Great location on the south bank, convenient access to CBD. Not many options for breakfast, but good enough.

The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service. However, the breakfast was quite average. One major issue was the energy-saving motion sensors installed in the guest rooms. The lights automatically turned off if there was no movement for a period of time, which made it difficult to sit quietly in the room for an extended time, such as reading or relaxing. Unfortunately, the sensor in our room also seemed to malfunction. Even when we were moving around, the lights would sometimes turn off. The hotel did send someone to fix it and offered to move us to another room if the problem continued. However, since we were only staying for three nights, we decided it wasn’t worth the hassle of changing rooms. I understand the hotel’s effort to save energy, but having motion sensors control the lights in guest rooms can be quite restrictive and inconvenient. Guests should be able to relax and use their rooms comfortably without having to constantly move around to keep the lights on.
