Crowne Plaza SURFERS PARADISE by IHG

Terrible experience at this hotel. I would highly recommend you read this before booking. The lighting is not working in the first room, so they arrange another room on the same floor. The lighting works but the room is so dusty as you can see in the photos below. I highly doubt the hygiene of this hotel. Also, many furnitures in the room are run-down/ broken, please see the photos. The shower room also has a broken door. It is the worst Crowne Plaza/IHG hotel I have ever been to.

We loved where we stayed, the service was fantastic. The breakfast was beautiful. The only thing I was not happy about was that my rooms heating was broken and i had to use a small oil heater which didn't heat our room. The blanket was amazing though

Overall, I was quite disappointed with my stay and would not recommend this hotel. The hotel is advertised as a four-star property, but the facilities and overall condition did not feel up to a four-star standard. The room and common areas felt quite dated, and even the wallpaper in the room was starting to peel off. When we checked in at around 1pm, the toilet in our first room was faulty and kept making a constant flushing/running-water noise. We went to the lobby and asked the manager if we could change rooms, but it took quite a bit of back and forth before they finally agreed. I found this frustrating because if there is an obvious issue with the room that affects the guest’s comfort, I would expect a room change to be a fairly basic and reasonable request. After moving to the new room, I asked the front desk for two extra pillows and slippers. We went out afterwards and returned to the hotel at around 7pm, but nothing had been delivered. I then had to follow up twice before someone finally brought them to the room. The response time and level of service were not what I would expect from a four-star hotel. In terms of location, the hotel is close to the tram, which is convenient, but there are very few restaurants, convenience stores, or other amenities nearby, so I still found the location somewhat inconvenient. Overall, the condition of the hotel, the service, and the way our room issue was handled fell below my expectations for a four-star property. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others.
