From the moment I arrived at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of refined elegance and understated luxury. The hotel exemplifies a rare balance between contemporary sophistication and timeless Japanese hospitality, making every interaction feel both personal and profound. The guest rooms are nothing short of extraordinary—thoughtfully designed, immaculately maintained, and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline. Each detail, from the choice of materials to the intuitive layout, reflects an unwavering commitment to excellence. Dining at the property is a remarkable journey in itself. Every restaurant presents not only world-class cuisine but also a sense of artistry and cultural depth. The staff demonstrate genuine passion and precision, ensuring that each culinary experience becomes an indelible memory. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its service. The team embodies the very spirit of omotenashi—anticipating needs with effortless grace and delivering them with warmth and sincerity. It remains, without question, one of the finest hotels in the world.

Overall, the hotel is good, but it is clear that the property has not undergone renovation for quite some time, and the interior already feels noticeably outdated. I was also surprised to find only two towels in the bathroom and toothpaste provided in a sachet, which looked rather unusual for a hotel of this level.  We did not try breakfast, as we unfortunately overslept. The sleep quality itself was excellent. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. We happened to stay on the day when an earthquake occurred in northern Japan, and the team handled the situation very professionally—calmly explaining everything, reassuring us that we were completely safe, and even encouraging us to continue enjoying our evening drink at the bar without worry. Overall, thank you for the stay. There is certainly room for improvement, as Mandarin should strive for perfection. In this case, I believe there are aspects that could be refined.
