Highly recommended. The room is beautiful and has an amazing view of the lake. Santhosh provided excellent service to me and my husband. He was very helpful. We love the experience so much we extended our stay.

I stayed at Taj Fateh Prakash after the Taj Lake Palace to continue my birthday celebrations, and the Grand Luxury Suite Lake View was breathtaking — the balcony views were even better than at the Lake Palace. The hotel is gorgeous, and the housekeeping staff was lovely. However, the infrastructure is split between buildings, with tourist spots in between that get crowded and affect the exclusive feel. The bar was closed on a Saturday night, which is unbelievable for a luxury hotel. In-room amenities were disappointing: empty minibar, plastic water bottles instead of glass, missing jacuzzi amenities, no wine glasses, no coffee machine, and no emergency phones in corridors. While everything was eventually resolved, these issues shouldn’t exist at this level. It’s a beautiful property with spectacular views, but the standards need to rise to match its potential.

We recently visited Fateh Chand Hotel and had a wonderful experience. We truly enjoyed our time there. The staff was very welcoming, and Ms Sujata especially was extremely polite and helpful in hosting us. The restaurant food was delicious and the services were excellent. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place!

I spent two nights here in late October. I was upgraded at check-in to a semi-suite, which was well appointed, spacious and very comfortable. I could not get a reservation to stay at the Taj Lake Palace but the folks at reception worked hard to get me a lunch spot and tour there - which was worth the time. Taj Fateh had a good breakfast and nice dining options. The location, in the City Palace Complex, lakeside with views of the Lake Palace more than convenient, rather stunning. I might even argue stay at the Taj Fateh and admire the Taj Lake Palace from the land side is the better option.

In the center of Udaipur, next to the City Palace, the hotel is wonderful. It is a historic palace itself and has maintained a charming atmosphere. My room was great - it had a nice little built in sofa in the windows where I could look out over the lake. It was quiet, relaxing - a needed escape from the streets of old town Udaipur. The staff were amazing - setting up a great guide for me, helping make restaurant reservations during Diwali, getting me G&T at the pool. Just a wonderful, charming and friendly group of people.
