Holiday Inn Express WICHITA SOUTH by IHG

Nice refurbished, rooms and very nice breakfast center. Norma keeps the food, replenished and hot, and the whole eating space clean and friendly!

We frequently stay at Holiday Inn express/IHG hotels. Sad to say this is one of the worst we have stayed at. The hallway was muggy and smelly and carpets were very dirty, peeling wallpaper etc. in the room, the soap dispensers were coming off the wall in the bathroom, the sink did not drain properly, the bottom drawer of the dresser was sticking out and would not close. We were worried that our vehicle might not be safe - across the street were two dilapidated closed hotels, and another one beside us. The room decor was quite dated and in need of update. The bed appeared clean and the breakfast was what we expect at Holiday Inn but we were anxious to leave and would not stay at this one again.

Pretty good overall, had very few issues. We did have trouble with the TV working properly. The remote batteries might have been dead. The pancake maker for breakfast was also out of service.

Facility looked a little more run down than most holiday inns we’ve been to but rooms were clean, and staff was friendly.

We stayed here twice in a week on our way to and from Oklahoma from Minnesota. Both times it was a great value in price, really nice room, and very good breakfasts. On our return trip we had a room with a nonworking TV and Cameron was such a great help. He moved us to another room just like we had - it was a suite - and then went up and made sure the TV worked before we moved our things to the new room. He then brought us the key to the new room which was just a couple doors down. He was very helpful. Love the breakfast choices, a definite step up from others.

The property was nice as well as the staff but having no coffee in the room was not helpful at all.

We chose this for the location, but the whole stay was poor. The front desk on check-in had attitude but we continued on to our room. I have stayed in many HI Express rooms and this was the worst. The bathroom was dirty and had mold, the room was musty and everything need renovating. We could take it for one night, but were glad to get on the road the next morning bright and early.

We had to change rooms 3 times when we first got there. We checked in at 3:30 and our room nor any of the kings were clean and ready. They switched us to another room, but the tv was not working. They then again switched us to another room where the tv was working but we only had the weather channel on it. They did say they were having trouble with their tv's. We paid good monies to stay here but was very disappointed with the tv situation. There was nothing offered to us to for not having any tv. It would have been nice if they had at least given a small discount or even offered something to make up for it. We did notice that their cleaning staff was standing around talking and laughing instead of trying to get the rooms cleaned and readied for the guests. It's like they were trying to rack up overtime.

It was easy going from the start of the check in, pleasant hotel staff, clean rooms and good amnesties. The gym had what I need to have a good workout equipped with free weights, workout machine and stationary bike. My kids enjoyed the pool and it is big enough it held over a dozen kids. I keep my breakfast simple and the breakfast in the morning was more than generous for me. What really topped breakfast for me besides the self made coffee machine is the snap of a cooked sausage link when one bites into it.
