Great location and a grand lobby. The breakfast restaurant and the breakfast itself were wonderful, especially the Roujiamo (Chinese hamburger), water-boil beef soup, and braised meat buns, which were all delicious. The service was also excellent, though the room facilities are a bit dated. However, thanks to good routine maintenance, there were no old stains on areas prone to getting dirty, like the carpets and sofas. The room's ventilation and exhaust system could use some improvement. The bed and bedding were comfortable and made it easy to fall asleep. It maintains its five-star standard with exceptional value for money.

The hotel was very clean, and I was assigned to a great floor. The soundproofing was quite good too. I stayed for 5 nights during the National Day holiday in Xi'an, and the room was cleaned thoroughly every day. When ordering takeout, a robot would deliver it directly to the room. The hotel is also right next to a subway station, which made getting around very convenient.

Considering transportation and holiday crowds, I booked this 5-star hotel, hoping to end our trip on a high note. Instead, it turned out to be the biggest letdown of the entire journey. A group of five of us stayed for three nights. Here is an honest breakdown of the issues: 1. Service: Broken Promises and Complete Lack of Follow-Through - Delayed Check-in: The hotel called the day before to confirm our arrival time and requests. We arrived at 2:50 PM the next day, only to be told our rooms weren't ready. The front desk staff was completely expressionless, only answering when asked, and claimed the rooms would be ready in an hour, promising to call us. We were forced to wait outside for an hour and a half without receiving any call. When we returned to the desk, the staff had already forgotten who we were, and after processing our check-in, they acted as if it were our fault for not coming back sooner. When I voiced my frustration and mentioned I'd leave a bad review, there was zero reaction. If a hotel cannot handle holiday volume, they shouldn't call ahead to confirm; if they can't guarantee a check-in time, they shouldn't make empty promises. This is exactly how a 5-star hotel ruins its own reputation. - Non-Existent Concierge/Doorman Service: Five of us arrived with five suitcases. The doorman just watched us struggle through the doors without offering any verbal greeting or physical assistance. After check-in, no one escorted us or guided us to the elevators. Compared to the other hotels on this trip that offered full luggage service and guidance, the difference was night and day. - Severe Delay for Food Delivery to Room: The delivery driver dropped off our food in the lobby at 9:00 PM. I called the front desk twice and was told both times it was "on the way." It didn't arrive until 9:46 PM—the food was completely cold. 2. Facilities: Outdated, Dim, and Poorly Designed - Dim Lighting: Even with all the lights on, the room was bathed in a dull, yellowish gloom. Walking in felt like entering a basement. - Poor Layout: An awkward nightstand and a short sofa cramped most of the space by the window, making the right curtain difficult to open/close and rendering the storage practically useless. The flow between the vanity, toilet, and shower was chaotic, requiring awkward maneuvering around doors. - Mildew Smell & Thick Carpets: The carpets in the hallways and rooms had a faint musty smell and made dragging luggage extremely difficult. - Aging Amenities: Manual curtains, regular (non-smart) toilets, and water that only got lukewarm at the highest setting. No clothesline in the shower. The AC panel had no Chinese labels, could only toggle between 18°C and 20°C with no actual temperature change, and the three fan speeds had no display indicator and felt identical. - Poor Soundproofing: All three nights, like clockwork around 11:00 PM, we could clearly hear a child crying and parents trying to soothe them in the next room for about ten minutes—it sounded like they were right in front of us. 3. Breakfast: Zero Variety Over Three Days, Barely Any Meat Hot dishes were always the same four vegetarian options (undercooked, tasteless potato slices, rubbery mushrooms, pale cauliflower, and bland stir-fried greens). The staple carbs were consistently fried rice and fried noodles. The local specialties featured paomo with almost no beef cubes, saozi noodles with virtually no meat flavor, and shuipen beef soup where meat was nowhere to be found. The juice was overly sweet, cheap bulk-brand juice, and there were only three types of fruit. Across our three-night stay, the menu never changed once. This standard fell far below what I'd expect from a 5-star hotel—worse than some budget chains, in fact. Summary The higher the expectations, the greater the disappointment. I wanted to treat my family and friends to a wonderful Xi'an experience, but our stay ruined the mood of the trip. To be clear, this is just a review of this single experience and doesn't change my love for Xi'an—I will definitely return for a 9th and 10th time, but I'll be far more cautious when picking a hotel. I'm posting this to warn fellow travelers, and I hope the management takes this seriously: treat your guests like an afterthought, and they will eventually vote with their feet.

The Executive Room comes with lounge access, which was perfect for grabbing snacks and drinks anytime – a great way to add some relaxation to our family trip. 3.
