The Milner York

I booked two rooms. One of them was very spacious, and the beds were really comfortable. The shower had great water pressure and was nice and hot. The location is excellent, right across from the train station. My train was at 8:20 AM, and I could leave the hotel at 8:05 AM and still make it. Fantastic!

Located right outside the train station, a beautiful old building. The staff were patient and always willing to help. The downstairs restaurant served great food too. The room was a bit small but had all the necessary amenities, and the lobby downstairs was beautifully decorated.

If I had to choose again, I would definitely not pick this hotel. For over 2000 a night, this hotel with a 'siding bed' is worse than a 200-300 yuan budget hotel in China. It's not in the main building, but in an annex building next to scaffolding. We were put in the basement. The room reeked of mold, and the carpet was incredibly dirty; my child's white socks turned completely black after just a few steps on it. The 1.35-meter double bed was impossible for me (116 jin) and my 11-year-old son (70 jin) to even turn over in. Being sensitive, the moldy and damp smell kept me awake almost all night. I even saw a huge spider in the bathroom, and basic toiletries like toothbrushes were missing. The breakfast was just a standard English breakfast, taste was acceptable. If I hadn't pre-paid, I would have checked out immediately. Picture 3 is near the main building's lobby. In my opinion, this hotel has no advantages except for being close to the train station. I'd love to hear from anyone who stayed in the main building. Ctrip should stop listing these annex 'siding rooms' for booking; it's completely deceiving customers.

The hotel is a bit old but well-maintained. The service was very responsive, and the breakfast, while basic, was decent. The room was quiet and spacious. Overall, I recommend it.

The location is fantastic! Our room had a view of the church, and it's just a 10-minute walk to the cathedral. It's even more convenient if you're traveling by train, as the station is only a 3-minute walk away. The breakfast is a Western-style quick meal, with a limited selection. I really enjoyed the grilled mushrooms, and the cereal bowls were delicious too. The room and bathroom were a bit small, and you'll need to bring your own toothbrush and slippers.
