Sri Lanka | Bawa No. 11: Beautiful from Every Angle

Sri Lanka | Bawa No. 11: Beautiful from Every Angle

No. 11 in Colombo is the private residence of Geoffrey Bawa. After 30 years of renovation, you can explore the inspiration behind Bawa's various designs in this small "museum" with its maze-like design, and experience the fusion of local architecture and exotic features. Bawa creatively uses geometric elements such as triangles, and uses different basic materials such as bricks, metal, and cement to shape the space. The light and shadow give the building a mysterious color. The furniture inside the building is also designed by him, reflecting the combination of new vision and traditional materials.

Whistlestop Stay in Sri Lanka!

Quick stopover in Sri Lanka? Try this! 🕌 Fly into Colombo and visit the striking Red Mosque. It’s a busy area, bustling with life! 🥤 Don’t miss the Bombay Sweet House on Second Cross Street, directly opposite the mosque’s main entrance, where you can enjoy a refreshing rose falooda (a local cross between a desert and a milkshake) to escape the heat. 🐋 On the next day, head to historic Galle to explore its stunning colonial architecture, beautiful beaches, and a historic lighthouse. If you’re lucky maybe you’ll even see some whales! 🏛️ As you return to Colombo, be sure to visit the Colombo National Museum to take in some local culture. 🍺To wrap up your trip, grab a cold beer in Colombo’s Old Fort area to cool down! 🚗 Top Tip: Using ‘Pick Me’ can save you a lot on transportation and can be used for travel between cities too. 🌞 Enjoy your stay! #srilanka #colombo #galle #travel #thingstodo

Beautiful Panadura Beach- Colombo

Beautiful Panadura Beach- Colombo

My second time visiting Colombo. And everytime when I go there I have to go to this beach few hours before sunset. Having some coconut drinks and sitting there until the sun goes down. Before sunset going down, local people will come out to the beach and gathering, having small talks to each others, playing football, swimming. I just seeing and enjoy seeing how peoples' lives going #staycation

Gem Kingdom--Sri Lanka

Gem Kingdom--Sri Lanka

Gem Kingdom--Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, has a population of over 20 million, with a per capita income of 4000 US dollars. The capital is Colombo Port, an important transportation hub in the Indian Ocean and a major transshipment port globally. The pace of life in Sri Lanka is slow, everything is done leisurely. Sri Lanka is not large in size, but it is one of the three major tea-producing countries in the world. The output value of black tea ranks among the top three in the world, and the tea export volume is the world's first! Sri Lanka has countless high mountain tea gardens, plain lakes, countless temples, various kinds of seas, calm and blue, angry and surging, beautiful as a picture, full of reefs.

March is Sri Lanka's tropical season, with strong and persistent sunshine, so sunscreen is our primary protection. 📓 Second, identification documents, such as your passport and driver's license. Although Sri Lanka is visa-free, your passport is an essential document for travel and should be brought along. A driver's license is necessary if you plan to rent a car and drive yourself. 📱 Third, an international phone card and travel insurance. You can purchase a phone card on the plane to Sri Lanka or at the airport upon arrival to stay connected. Travel insurance is a must-have for any trip, especially for adventurous travels. 🔌 Fourth, a plug adapter, as Sri Lanka uses three-pin power outlets, which are different from most countries. Without an adapter, your electronic devices will be left powerless. 👒 Fifth, because Sri Lanka is a low-latitude country with strong sunlight, you'll need a hat or parasol for sun protection. A hat can also effectively prevent sunstroke from prolonged sun exposure. 🎒 Finally, lightweight outdoor gear is also essential. If you plan to venture into Sri Lanka's jungles or stroll along the beaches, lightweight outdoor gear will allow you to enjoy the natural scenery while minimizing fatigue. In short, Sri Lanka is breathtakingly beautiful! Come join us, friends! Beautiful scenery, delicious food, and great company. Bring your good mood, and let Trip.com take you on a journey through Sri Lanka!

Urban Beach 🏖️

#beachvacation Although I grew up in a province surrounded by Indian ocean 🌊 on two sides with the second longest shore in the world 🌍, there's always one hesitation in going to the beach 🏖️ which is getting into the beach clothes 😁 As I ain't someone with such nice beach body, going to this urban beach during my Sri Lanka visit was totally worth it. You may still get down to the 🪨 rocky places and have fun there in the water though. Resonating with the common beach ⛱️ scenes in the south east Asia, there are lot of small shops setup in van 🚚 with nice delicacies to enjoy 🍦 I'd also applaud the effort in making this place very neat and decent for families to enjoy!! #tripblazers#urbanexplorer#ukcreator #colombo

Who would believe that I have set foot in Colombo? If I hadn't said it myself, I'm afraid no one would believe it, right? 🌍 Sri Lanka, located on the Indian Ocean, is like a dazzling "gem". Its tourism resources are rich and colorful, and the tourism industry is the pillar of the country's economy, attracting countless tourists to come for vacation and leisure 🔥. However, when it comes to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, my experience seems to be limited to taking a plane there ✈️.
