Introduction Fall Leaves Viewing in Kobe

Introduction
Some information may have been translated by Google Translate
Kobe is famous for its autumn maple viewing, which is mainly concentrated from mid-November to early December. Mt. Rokko and Mt. Maya are popular maple viewing spots. The red leaves appear early in high-altitude areas, and the mountaintops have a wide view, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful red leaves. Kobe City Forest Botanical Garden is also a good place to enjoy maple leaves. With Hase Pond as the center, maple forests and various trees complement each other, making it suitable for family trips. In addition, during the red leaf season, many places in Kobe will hold lighting events, and the red leaves have a unique flavor at night. Visitors can also taste Japanese cuisine and enjoy hot springs in places such as Rokko to enrich their maple viewing experience. In short, Kobe's red leaf viewing not only allows you to enjoy the natural beauty, but also allows you to have an in-depth experience combined with local culture and history. It is an excellent choice for autumn tourism.

Don't make a day trip to Arima Onsen!!

You must stay at least one night to fully enjoy it 🥹🥹🥹 This time, I traveled from Kyoto to Arima Onsen, which was quite convenient, though finding the boarding point at Kyoto Station was a bit tricky! It only takes 75 minutes by bus from Kyoto Station to Arima. During the off-season, there are only 2 buses a day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon), but this increases to 4 buses during the peak season. I stayed at Hyoe Koyokaku this time, and I highly recommend it! The three public baths are beautiful and have a great environment, offering both gold and silver baths! If you want to take photos, you can reserve a private bath for around HKD 200 🥰 If you have the budget, you can also book a stay with two meals included; the dinner is incredibly sumptuous 🥹 with a Japanese buffet and unlimited wagyu beef 🤤 🌟 Address - Arima Onsen Hyoe Koyokaku 🌟 Environment/Facilities - 3 public baths + 1 private bath, hotel shuttle service, very close to the shopping street 🌟 Features - A hot spring hotel with 700 years of history 😍 🌟 Average Price - Around HKD 3000 for a double room, including two meals Rating - 4.8/5

Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens

Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens

A beautiful garden situated on a hill above Kobe. Highly recommend taking the ropeway to the herb garden. Then walk down to Kobe, you will see the herb gardens, the observatories ie greenhouses and get multiple points with views across the Kobe and wider Osaka bay. The ride was very scenic and garden has a variety of fragrances for you to smell. A good place for couples and for families. I want to travel to Malaysia this year. #2024wish

The better base for exploring

#japantrip So we had done Osaka and Kyoto several times as our base to get around. I mean once you have the right passes or transport sorted. It doesn't make a lot of difference. Having said so, Kobe has turned out to be a refreshing pick. Many people don't consider it or when they do it's merely a day trip. But once you look closely there is certainly plenty to do, see and eat. The food and the night life in kobe are particularly pleasant. Even without them, should you be considering a visit to himeji castle or other places in that direction. Staying in Kobe is far more convenient than Osaka or Kyoto. #japantrip #kobe #food #shinkansen #holiday

Great place for Kobe Beef Steak - Merikan Hatoba

Merikan Steak and Grill is a steak house serving the famous Kobe beef. It is located in the Motomachidori shopping district but on a side street, so it is necessary to look carefully to reach the place. It is a small restaurant with less than 20 seats and reservation in advance is highly recommended. Merikan Hatoba serves only A5 Kobe beef, so the few sets on the menu basically offers the beef by weight - ie 100g, 150g or 200g. The chef managed the kitchen by himself, while another waitress served customers. We ordered the sets and within 15 minutes the beef steaks were ready! Without a word, we all dove right into our delicious and juicy meal! When the chef is free , he would even come out and take photos with his customers! This is a cozy little place full of character that we would definitely want to go back! Address 1 Chome-3-14 Motomachidori, Chuo Ward, Kobe, Hyogo 650-0022, Japan Hours 11-3pm, 5-9pm close on Monday #urbanexplorer #kobe #foodie #japan #foodinjapan

Maya by bus and ropeway: Hanshin Electric Railway ticket set, approximately 1hr ———— ❤Recommended Reasons: 1. How can you not visit Mt. Maya when in Kobe to see the million-dollar night view!! For a view from the top of the mountain, see another post with a vlog record 2. If you want to go to Mt. Maya, you can buy a Hanshin Electric Railway ticket set, which includes round-trip train tickets from Osaka to Kobe Sannomiya, round-trip bus tickets from Kobe Sannomiya to Mt. Maya, and round-trip tickets for the small cable car on both ends of Mt. Maya, for a total of 1950 yen. Purchase location: Hanshin Electric Railway Osaka Umeda Station Master's Office (right next to the entrance gate) 3. Meriken Park should be one of the must-visit spots in Kobe, the seaside is very chill, and many citizens come here to walk and play with children on weekends. There was also a Hawaiian performance when I visited & there are many food stalls in the park, where you can have lunch 4. The sea at Suma is also very blue, with many Koreans and Westerners on the beach, and some people swimming in the sea ———— 📝Note tips: 1. If you want to experience the Suma seaside train, you need to take the JR from Suma Station and go back one stop 2. With the Hanshin ticket set, you can avoid queuing for the ropeway tickets at Mt. Maya and enjoy being the first to check tickets and board the small train! 3. The ropeway's uphill schedule at Mt. Maya generally coincides with the No. 18 bus system, so please check the ropeway operating times before taking other means of transportation to Mt. Maya (Google can be consulted)

Kobe Nunobiki Herb Gardens

After exiting Shin-Kobe Station to the ground level, you take the ropeway. Once you reach the summit by ropeway, you can overlook the entire city. There are shops at the top, so if you're hungry or want to drink alcohol, the summit is the place to be. The rose garden was also beautiful. It is recommended to leisurely descend from the summit to the midpoint of the ropeway. The path is well-maintained and clean, and you can enjoy the pleasant air of the fresh greenery. As you make your way down, stopping at various places where herbs are planted, you'll come across a flower field at the midpoint. On the way back, I took the ropeway from the midpoint station down to the bottom. Even if there's a line, don't worry, you won't have to wait long to get on. I think the season of fresh greenery before the rainy season is the best time to enjoy it ☺️

A Tranquil Escape: My Onsen Experience at Arima Onsen Taketoritei Maruyama

#japantrip Located in the serene mountains of Kobe, Arima Onsen Taketoritei Maruyama is an oasis of peace and rejuvenation, where the traditional Japanese art of relaxation meets modern luxury. From the moment I arrived, the soothing atmosphere and breathtaking natural surroundings set the tone for a truly unforgettable stay. The ryokan’s design immediately captivated me—blending traditional Japanese elements with contemporary elegance. My room, a spacious haven, offered a serene retreat, complete with tatami mats, shoji screens, and an outdoor terrace with views of the lush green mountains. The comfort of the futon bedding and the calming ambiance made it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploration. The highlight of my stay was the rejuvenating onsen experience. The hotel boasts private and public hot springs fed by the natural mineral waters of Arima, known for their therapeutic properties. Soaking in the outdoor bath while surrounded by nature was a truly serene and restorative experience. The warm waters soothed my muscles and helped me reconnect with the tranquil surroundings. Dining at Taketoritei Maruyama was an extraordinary journey of flavors. The traditional kaiseki dinner, elegantly presented, featured seasonal ingredients prepared with meticulous care. Each dish was a harmonious blend of textures and tastes, showcasing the essence of Japanese cuisine. The breakfast, equally delightful, was a beautiful array of fresh, locally sourced dishes that perfectly complemented the peaceful start to my day. The hotel’s service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to ensure a seamless and personalized experience. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel like a cherished guest, offering thoughtful touches like tea ceremonies and assistance with planning my local activities. Beyond the onsen and the sumptuous dining, the location of Arima Onsen Taketoritei Maruyama was ideal for those looking to explore the cultural beauty of Kobe. I wandered through the charming streets of Arima Onsen town, visited historic temples, and took in the scenic beauty of the nearby mountains. Arima Onsen Taketoritei Maruyama isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an immersion into the tranquility of Japan’s onsen culture, where luxurious comforts and natural beauty combine to create a retreat unlike any other. If you’re looking for peace, relaxation, and authentic Japanese hospitality, this ryokan offers an unforgettable experience that will linger long after you leave.
