Izu Shaboten Zoo 🇯🇵

#cherryblossom2024 Izu Shaboten Zoo was an unexpected gem during my spring vacation in Japan! 🌵 Located in the scenic Izu Peninsula, this zoo offered a unique blend of animal encounters and botanical wonders. The entrance fee was quite reasonable, around 1,500 yen per person, making it a worthwhile investment for a day of exploration. As I strolled through the zoo, I was amazed by the variety of animals, from adorable meerkats to majestic giraffes and exotic birds. #IzuShabotenZoo and #NatureEscape Nearby, attractions like the stunning Jogasaki Coast and the tranquil Joren Falls provided opportunities to immerse myself in the natural beauty of the Izu Peninsula. Plus, don't miss the chance to explore the nearby hot springs and enjoy a relaxing soak after a day of adventure. Izu Shaboten Zoo was a delightful destination for animal lovers and nature enthusiasts alike, leaving me with cherished memories of my visit to this scenic paradise. 🦒🌺

Japan's black volcanic beach ⛱️ 🌋

#timetotravel I visited Ito Beach in Japan last October and I had a wonderful time. Here is my review of this beautiful destination. Ito Beach is located in Ito, a famous hot spring resort town on the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula. It is easily accessible from Tokyo by train, and it offers a variety of attractions and activities for visitors. I stayed at K's House Ito Onsen, a historic ryokan hostel that has communal and private hot spring baths. The hostel was very cozy and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed soaking in the hot springs and relaxing in the lounge areas. Another thing that I loved about Ito Beach was the food. There are many restaurants and cafes that serve delicious local cuisine, such as seafood, noodles, and sweets. I especially liked the sashimi donburi, a rice bowl topped with fresh raw fish. It was very fresh and flavorful, and it came with miso soup and pickles. I also tried some of the specialty desserts, such as orange soft serve ice cream and orange chiffon cake. They were very refreshing and sweet, and they used local oranges from the area. Ito Beach is a great place to visit for anyone who loves nature, hot springs, and food. It has something for everyone, and it is not too crowded or touristy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway in Japan.

Ōmuroyama

The inspiration for the crater in the Japanese anime 'Your Name,' this hidden gem is known only to locals. From a distance, the mountain resembles a matcha cake with a spoonful taken out, offering a beautiful and soothing sight. Located in the southeastern part of Japan's Izu Highlands, this 550-meter-high active volcano is completely covered in green grass during spring. In autumn and winter, the landscape transforms into a sea of silver grass, providing a different kind of beauty compared to the lush green of spring. A five-minute cable car ride from the foot of the mountain takes you to the crater's edge. You can walk around the crater or venture inside to explore. The summit is like a fairyland, especially at sunset when the golden light bathes the grass and trees, offering a panoramic view of Itō. On clear days, you can even see Mount Fuji hidden in the colorful clouds in the distance. Ōmuroyama 672-2 Ike, Ito, Shizuoka 413-0231, Japan Take the JR Line to Atami Station, then transfer to the Izu Kyūkō Line and get off at Izu-Kōgen Station. After exiting the station, find the bus stop and take a bus to Ōmuroyama.

Izu Granpal Park

#2024wish Parking is free for Illumination visiting hours. Parking lot looks big too. You’re supposed to retrieve paper ticket at ticket counter by showing the e-mail sent to you when you buy ticket online. Rebate is available online. Many fun attractions, separate charge - cycling, cart, balloon, flying chair and children's playground (FOC) and many others. Lots of photo spots also. The illumination is fabulous. The laser light show is fantastic. In 2024, I want to come back here.

Inmerse yourself in a Seaview train!!

Remember this name The Black Ship train 🛳 🖤🚉 Is a special train that runs in the Itō line in Japan and it has seats facing the sea shore, the view is expectscular and people take this trip to go around the Itō line From Atami all the way down to Izu This area has a lot of Onsen public and private ones, beautiful hikes, a death volcano, a Rocky mountain by the sea, black sand beaches, some famous restaurants and even a Don Quijote Mega at Itō. The road can be explored in a weekend trip or several days, I would recoend ay least 2-3 days to go around the area and then back to Atami in whrere it connects to the rest of Japan #spooktaculartrip #tripblazers #fallingforfall #beachlife #japan #ito #onsen #campingglamping #beach #traveljapan #sushi #train #blackship

Kawana Beach

Kawana Beach

#2024wish Kawana Beach is one of the holy places for snorkeling and diving, located in eastern Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture. This beach is a boulder-strewn beach. From Tokyo Station, take the Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train (about 40 minutes) or the Ueno Tokyo Line to Atami Station (about 90 minutes), then transfer to the Ito Line for about 30 minutes to the nearest station, which is Kawana Station. The distance from Kawana Station to the beach is about 1.2 km, so it is accessible on foot, but we recommend taking a bus, especially on the way back, as the road is very steep. The nearest bus stop to Kawana Beach is “Irukuhama”.

【Ito Onsen Hotel】Unbeatable Value! Private Onsen + POLA Toiletries + Unlimited Kinmedai!

"This time we struck gold in Ito!💎" The hotel is just a **10-minute walk** from the station🚶♀️, with AEON and 7-Eleven along the way, making it super convenient to grab snacks. There are also plenty of restaurants around the station, perfect for foodies!🍣 As soon as you enter the lobby, you can smell a faint fragrance, and there's even an open-air foot bath in the center!👣 If you're tired from walking, you can soak your feet right away. The onsen is divided into male and female baths, as well as family baths. After soaking, enjoy a bottle of ice-cold milk🥛—it's incredibly refreshing!😍 The room I booked has a private onsen♨️, and the toiletries are from POLA!🧴 The tatami room is so comfortable that I fell asleep while watching TV☁️. The next morning, after soaking in the onsen, I enjoyed a rich breakfast buffet, which even included unlimited Kinmedai shabu shabu🐟. The hotel also has a souvenir shop, and the staff speaks excellent English, making communication a breeze. If I had to point out a downside, it might be the ordinary view. But at this price, what more could you ask for!🔥 📍Friendly Tips: - Bring your own toothbrush - Book the kaiseki dinner in advance Hotel: Ito La Foret

The Grand Illumination in Izu (7th Season)

The Grand Illumination in Izu (7th Season)

This is by far my most favorite illumination in Japan. I went here in 2021, and I would love to go back. This was the 7th Season of the Grand Illumination at Izu Granpal Park in Shizuoka Prefecture. You can try out different rides if you have plenty of time. The highlights of the illumination includes the "Light and Sound Show" where illuminations dance with the music. The "Full Color Laser Show'' which creates a fantastical world where the aurora appears to be moving. And, the "Gran Vision Show'' which is a collaboration between a large 60m wide LED vision and sound. You can enjoy the collaboration of music and light from 8:00 PM ~ Closing time. This is the perfect place to enjoy your Christmas holiday this year.

Anjin

Anjin

Under the Hoshino Group, Anjin is a full-sea view hot spring hotel located in Ito, about 1.5 hours' drive from Tokyo, which opened in 2017. The hotel has an open-air hot spring on the observation deck leading to the beach, rich in mineral elements, for guests to soak and nourish their body and mind. "Jie" is a boutique hot spring hotel brand under the Hoshino Group, located in various famous hot spring resorts throughout Japan. The name "Anjin" comes from the British navigator "William Adams" who served the Tokugawa shogunate in the early Edo period, so the hotel has created a series of art spaces themed around the sea and boats, where guests can enjoy the ever-changing sea views from their rooms and the upper-level large bath. All rooms are sea view rooms with a view of the ocean, creating a romantic space for guests to enjoy the sea as if looking at a map. The unique decoration creates an artistic space inspired by ships, allowing people to leisurely feel the slow passing of time. Every detail in the room is thoughtfully prepared for guests. First, there are exquisite bathrobes made of linen fabric, providing a comfortable wearing experience in both winter and summer. In addition, the "Rouyun Anshui" series is a mattress developed by the Hoshino Group to provide comfortable sleep. The core can support the body well and bring a comfortable sleeping experience as if lying on a cloud. The room is also equipped with "Furoshiki," a traditional Japanese fabric that can wrap or carry items like a handbag. Please use Furoshiki instead of a bag when you stay here and experience a pure Japanese travel style.

Ito Orange Beach

#2024wish Ito Orange Beach is located in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is a representative beach of Higashi Izu. It was named “Orange Beach” because Ito City was originally known for its tangerine production. Let’s take a look at the lighlights of Ito Orange Beach! Water in the marina is super clean, so I know this beach has potential, it just needs some love! In 2024, I want to be back here.
