Snowy Huzhou and Xisai Mountain are a perfect match

Snowy Huzhou and Xisai Mountain are a perfect match

Huzhou is snowing! Snowy Huzhou and Xisai Mountain are a perfect match~ Unlike others, our first thought when it snows is to go to the mountains! It snowed yesterday, and in the afternoon we went to the Hongju Hotel in Xisai Mountain, Huzhou. As the first show of the Hongju brand under the Banyan Tree Group in China, some thought was put into the design, and the main space was extremely beautiful in the snow! The hotel's design was done by the Japanese architectural design firm KKSIC, and then deepened by Jin Tanglang. Jin Tanglang's reputation in the industry needs no further explanation, right? Behind the Suzhou Park Hyatt and the Ritz-Carlton Hidden World, there is this company's figure. So the hotel has a very eye-catching design, which is the lobby space known as the 'Moonlight Treasure Box', and a very high floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall on one side. Looking in from the outside infinity pool, the lobby is like a display case in a museum, with the 'Hongjian Building' with its red lacquer carvings and neatly arranged window frames imitated in it, which is especially stunning when you come to see it in the snow. The hotel is actually very, very large. We walked around and saw camping, artificial beaches, Lu Yu trails, viewing platforms and so on, but today might be the coldest day of the year, freeze warning! Stay indoors! The rooms are neither good nor bad, almost every room has a small terrace where you can see the outside scenery. As for dining, the hotel is located in a relatively remote location. If you don't dine at the hotel, you have to eat at a farmhouse nearby or drive a long way to the city.

Huzhou's resort hotels are on another level - it's like a whole ancient town.

Huzhou's resort hotels are on another level - it's like a whole ancient town.

▫️Environment▫️ The hotel is located in Xishanyang Wetland Park. Bridges, flowing water, pavilions, and towers - the scenery changes with every step. 🏯 We stayed in a courtyard room. Entering through a quaint door, there are two rooms. When you open the door, it's like you've traveled back in time to the courtyard of a wealthy family. The room numbers are also full of ancient charm. Zhizao Courtyard, Zhilu Courtyard, and so on. It was drizzling on the day we checked in. 🌧️ I was a little annoyed at first. But I didn't expect the scenery in the rain to be so beautiful. Sitting in the room, watching the drizzle fall on the autumn leaves on the terrace, I felt very healed. Because of the rain, a thin layer of mist covered the river. 🌫️ The whole hotel was like a fairyland. ▫️Dining▫️ We ate at the hotel's Jinxiu Restaurant. We enjoyed a winter warm pot with fish maw and chicken. 🐔 It was delicious, and a sip of the soup warmed me up. The wild river shrimp was so fresh. In addition to Jinxiu, there are many restaurants in the scenic area. You must try Huzhou's old brand of soup dumplings and wontons! There's also Western food at Duoduo Flower House. The hotel's breakfast is in the form of Cantonese dim sum. It's very ceremonial. There's also free 🆓 goodnight sweet soup. The chestnut 🌰 and sweet potato soup is delicious! ▫️Entertainment▫️ There are so many activities in Xishanyang Scenic Area. It takes a whole day just to visit the wetland park. You can also go to the service center. 👇🏻 ✔️🆓 Free bike rental 🚲 ✔️🆓 Free fishing rod rental 🎣 ✔️Free 🆓 Hanfu rental for travel photos 📸 ✔️Various DIY activities (plant printing, sachet making, etc.) ✔️Children's playground ✔️Feed alpacas 🦙 and black swans 🦢 ...... Three days and two nights don't feel like enough. PS: Pet 🐶 friendly. 📍Huzhou Zhenyin Jinxiu Resort Hotel

Bamboo sea? Oxygen bar? A place to escape from the world?

Bamboo sea? Oxygen bar? A place to escape from the world?

Designer B&B in Moganshan, Binlin City No. 56, Maowu Village, Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province As night falls, the whole mountain and wilderness fall into silence, only the natural insect sounds and the howling of the mountain wind are really beautiful to the ears and heart. Under the starry sky, I revisited the classic old movie... Different environments bring different visual experiences. Although it's a bit cold in winter, it doesn't prevent the good mood from coming. I really want time to stand still while watching, eating, and laughing with friends under a thick blanket. The most distinctive feature is the private bathhouse on the rooftop wooden house. Sisters who love to take pictures are in luck, it's quite photogenic. The room is clean and comfortable, with large space, complete facilities, good sound insulation, and an ancient architectural area. The first floor public area can have a fireplace - The roof is equipped with Open-air private hot spring Moroccan style afternoon tea Sitting on the balcony in the afternoon for afternoon tea, running a private hot spring bath in the evening to relax the body, the atmosphere is a bit Suitable for those who come to decompress and forget their troubles

Why Huzhou is the Next Culture City of East Asia (Part 1)

Why Huzhou is the Next Culture City of East Asia (Part 1)

On September 12, 2024, the 15th China-Japan-Korea Ministerial Conference on Culture was held in Kyoto, Japan. At the conference, commemorative plaques for the 2025 "Culture City of East Asia" were awarded to China's Macao Special Administrative Region and Huzhou City in Zhejiang Province, Kamakura City in Japan, and Anseong City in South Korea. Huzhou became the 17th city in China to be named a "Culture City of East Asia." There are many cities in China named after lakes, such as Wuhu, a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province; Chaohu, which has been incorporated into Hefei in the same province; Honghu in Jingzhou, Hubei Province; and Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia, named after two lakes. However, there is one city that is simply and purely named after a "lake." What's even more incredible is that the lake this city is named after doesn't actually belong to it. It's like the "borrowed scenery" in Chinese garden art: you can see the lake, but it doesn't belong to you. This city is called Huzhou, and the lake it is famous for is called Taihu Lake. Taihu Lake is the third largest freshwater lake in China and the most culturally significant and well-developed for tourism among the five major freshwater lakes. In Wuxi, there is a cliff carving at Yuantouzhu, known as the "First Scenic Spot of Taihu Lake," with the words "Encompassing Wu and Yue" inscribed by Liao Lun, a Qing Dynasty scholar who served as the local magistrate of Wuxi. This inscription highlights the historical and cultural significance of Taihu Lake in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. Today, the shores of Taihu Lake are home to four cities: Huzhou in Zhejiang, and Suzhou, Wuxi, and Changzhou in Jiangsu. Although Huzhou is closer to Taihu Lake, most of the lake's surface is divided among the three cities of Suzhou, Wuxi, and Changzhou, leaving Huzhou with only a 50-meter-wide shoreline. The earliest administrative division named "Huzhou" can be traced back to the Sui Dynasty, and for over a thousand years, the names Wuxing and Huzhou alternated. Huzhou was named after its proximity to Taihu Lake and flourished because of it. As the birthplace of cultural treasures such as the "king of brushes" Huzhou brush, the "Rongji Huzhou silk" that won gold and silver awards at the World Industrial Exposition, and the tea culture led by the tea sage Lu Yu, Huzhou became a leader in the development of Jiangnan for over a thousand years. The Huzhou merchants, represented by silk merchants, rose to prominence in the late Qing Dynasty, participating in the development of Shanghai and profoundly influencing modern China's economy. Huzhou lost jurisdiction over the surface of Taihu Lake in the early days of liberation, with various explanations such as the suppression of bandits in Taihu Lake and the exchange of land between Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Whatever the reason, it is now a thing of the past. The people of Huzhou did not "sigh at the lake," but instead embraced the sentiment of "having traveled all over the beautiful land of Jiangnan, one should only live in Huzhou." Among the many cities in Jiangnan, Huzhou may not be the most famous or economically advanced, but it remains one of the most livable cities and a popular tourist destination in southern Jiangsu and northern Zhejiang. Its top tourist attractions include Nanxun Ancient Town, Mogan Mountain, and Anji Bamboo Sea, located in its two districts and three counties.

I thought Wuzhen was beautiful until I visited Nanxun.

I thought Wuzhen was beautiful until I visited Nanxun.

Jiangnan is a beautiful place, and its scenery is well-known. Nanxun, a town hidden in the misty rain, is not only a historic and cultural town in China but also one of the top ten charming towns in China. It is known as the "land of fish and rice" and the "silk capital." With its white walls, black tiles, small bridges, and flowing water, Nanxun satisfies all your fantasies about the water towns of Jiangnan. Nanxun Ancient Town 💰No entrance fee, but some attractions in the town charge a small fee 🚘3 hours by car from Nanjing, 1.5 hours from Hangzhou, 2 hours from Shanghai 🚅Take a high-speed train to Huzhou Station and transfer to Bus 101 . 🚶🏻‍♀Walking route South Gate - Xiaolian Manor - Jiaye Library - Former Residence of Zhang Shiming - Liu's Tihao - Former Residence of Zhang Jingjiang - Baijianlou 🙋🏻‍♀I recommend taking two days to explore slowly, but one day is also enough . Here are some free check-in spots ❶Baijianlou: Walk along the ancient path on both sides, look at the buildings on the opposite bank, and enjoy the reflection in the water, as if you are walking in a painting. ❷Changfa Bridge: A bridge I really like, with green trees and small shops on the shore, very peaceful! ❸Tongjin Bridge: At the Shizigang Wharf, you can take photos of the bridge and water merging. ❹Water Bus: Sit on the boat and feel the Jiangnan atmosphere, 3 yuan per person, one trip every 30 minutes. The effect is more beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Tips for weekend and holiday travel ✔︎Although the water bus is cheap, don't waste time queuing when there are many people. ✔︎You can try the rowing boat, but I don't recommend night tours, as it's too dark to see anything. Spend the time after dusk at Baijianlou! (Yes, I missed the blue night view of Baijianlou) ✔︎I recommend staying near Baijianlou, as it's less crowded and quieter. Riverfront homestays are expensive during holidays, so choose wisely. ✔︎Drive to Baijianlou and navigate to "Baoshan Parent-Child Street Visitor Center," otherwise, you'll have to walk a lot. ✔︎Don't bring a stroller if you're traveling with kids, as the road is not suitable for pushing. ✔︎If you want to take photos, go before 10 am when there are fewer tourists.

I was so satisfied with the private hot spring courtyard I booked in Moganshan that I couldn't sleep.

I found the hotel of my life in Moganshan 🏨 I stayed for three nights 😭 I didn't want to check out at all 😭 . 1⃣️ As soon as I entered the room, I couldn't help but send a video to my parents. The whole environment and atmosphere were super comfortable 🍃! 2⃣️ Parking is also very convenient 🚗, and there are charging piles 3⃣️ Have afternoon tea ☕ in the hotel's small bar, chat, do handicrafts, and you won't be bored all day. 4⃣️ The dishes in the restaurant are super good 🍽, especially the bacon and pea rice and dinner, highly recommended! But remember to book in advance 5⃣️ The lobby turns into a bar KTV 🎤 at night, and the atmosphere is great! Exchange and taste fine wines with the housekeeper 🍷 6⃣️ It's worth mentioning that the super large bathtub 🛁 here, the feeling of bathing and swimming is simply too high! Looking forward to coming here again in winter to see the hot springs and starry sky 🌌
