I left Jingdezhen without really exploring much, but it was still quite a nice place to stroll around!

I left Jingdezhen without really exploring much, but it was still quite a nice place to stroll around!

Jingdezhen is actually quite a nice place to visit, especially for those from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, as it's just a few hours' drive away, making it very suitable for weekend trips. If you want to hunt for something, you can do as I did and check out the Lotte Pottery Society market, which is full of ceramic handcrafts with strong design and creativity. The downside is the price, as genuine original handcrafts are not cheap. Right next to the Lotte Pottery Society market is the Jingdezhen Sculpture Porcelain Factory. Although it's adjacent to the Lotte Pottery Society, the style of the goods is vastly different. Each small shop is packed with various ceramic products, including tableware, tea sets, and small ornaments. If you have enough patience, you can find items with great value for money here. (Of course, there are also many 🍑 items that you'll realize are a rip-off just by looking at them) The regret of this trip was missing the Jingdezhen Ceramic Museum and the Imperial Kiln Museum because I didn't book in advance. By the time I wanted to visit, there were no more tickets available, so if you have planned your trip, be sure to book in advance! Ps: Jingdezhen's beef bone powder and fried dough stick wrapped glutinous rice are really! Super delicious and cheap! You must try it, anyone who leaves without eating it will regret it!

After visiting Jingdezhen 6 times, here are the latest tips to avoid pitfalls in Jingdezhen

After visiting Jingdezhen 6 times, here are the latest tips to avoid pitfalls in Jingdezhen

Jingdezhen is world-famous as the 'Porcelain Capital', known for 'a city of porcelain, half a city of kilns', with an unparalleled number of porcelain kilns in the world. If you're planning a trip to Jingdezhen, here are the latest 20 tips to avoid pitfalls shared with everyone~ . 1. Friends going to Jingdezhen can take the high-speed train directly there, or fly to Jingdezhen or Nanchang and then take the high-speed train to Jingdezhen. 2. Friends heading to Yaoli Ancient Town for the azure misty rain don't need to buy a ticket; don't directly purchase the 150 yuan pass as it's purely a waste of money. Buy it when you reach a spot that requires ticket verification. 3. The Imperial Kiln Museum (more beautiful at night) was designed by architect Zhu Pei and was named one of the 'Top 10 Museum Buildings in the World in 2020'. They don't allow entry after 9:30 pm, and after 10 pm, the most popular photo spot is not crowded. 4. Bingding Wood Kiln is quite small, but the architecture is still beautiful. It's far from the city center, so consider the long journey before going. It's hard to hail a taxi in the mountains on the way back, so it's recommended to drive or hire a car. 5. Yaoli Ancient Town is quite crowded, not as niche as written online, and rather commercialized. However, it's quite beautiful if you go early in the morning. For dining, choose a restaurant by the river. 6. The prices at Taoxi Chuan ceramics are on the expensive side. It's better to visit in the evening. Night market: every Saturday and Sunday 16:00-21:30; Taoxi Chuan Art Museum: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00-20:00 (closed on Mondays, tickets required). 7. China Ceramic Museum opening hours: 9:00—17:00, closed on Mondays. Among the many museums in Jingdezhen, it has the richest collection and best expresses the entire historical context of the thousand-year-old Porcelain Capital. 8. The tea gardens in Hanxi Village, Fuliang, Jingdezhen are very beautiful, with the 'Lamp of the Earth' niche art exhibition, but remember to eat well before going as there's basically nothing to eat there. 9. Friends who like photography and want to capture the uninhabited internet-famous bridge in Yaoli Ancient Town should either get up early or navigate to Baishita Village Committee, where there are many similar bridges that are mostly deserted and very pristine. 10. Ancient Kiln Folk Customs Expo Area ticket: 95 yuan/person, opening hours: 8:00-17:00. If you have enough time, you can visit ancient porcelain workshops, Qing dynasty town kilns, and Ming dynasty gourd kilns. 11. If you want to experience pottery making, go to the Sculpture Porcelain Factory, where there are many places to do pottery. 12. If you want to browse markets, it's recommended to go to Lotte Market, which now requires a ticket. The quality of the stallholders is higher, and the prices are relatively cheaper. You can find some cute trinkets. The opening hours are every Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00. 13. When in Jingdezhen, you must try the deep-fried dough sticks wrapped in glutinous rice. The best-tasting ones in Jingdezhen are at Chengxin Fried Dough Stick Shop, 3.5 yuan each, worth a try. 14. When visiting Jingdezhen, you must experience kiln making and glass blowing. There are places for kiln making near Yaoli, Sanbao, and the Ceramic University. 15. If you like to stroll leisurely, you can go to Sanbao Village. Sanbao Village is not big, and the photogenic spots are mainly near 'Sanbao Art Museum', with blue and white porcelain zebra crossings and pottery wall, which are great for photos.

Chuanshangxing~Jingdezhen Hotel is a feast for the eyes!

Chuanshangxing~Jingdezhen Hotel is a feast for the eyes!

Chuanshangxing~Jingdezhen Hotel is a feast for the eyes After comparing all the hotels in the Taoxi River area, I finally chose the newest Chuanshangxing~. It is indeed a hotel designed by an architect, with a full sense of form. There are many advantages and disadvantages. The service is barely passable, and I paid for the value. I just went to Jingdezhen last week and chose Chuanshangxing Hotel. The overall design is very strong. The yard is particularly out of the picture. It is said that it is a renovated abandoned factory. It is not recommended to live in. You can go in and take a card and take a photo. Advantages: The design is very strong, the hotel is very out of the picture, the room is quite large, fully equipped, the hotel has a party time in the afternoon to evening (popcorn and other snacks and small cakes) Disadvantages: The hotel is open, that is, you can come in if you don’t live here, so if you want to check in, just go in directly (you have to enter the password when you come up from the underground garage on the day of check-in, and then you find that there are tourists everywhere) The service attitude is very average. Probably because the business is not good, the service staff are all in the front desk and there are not many people living. Then breakfast is provided by portion (probably there are few people living without a buffet) The housekeeper keeps asking what time to eat in the group, blah blah blah...a little annoying

Jingdezhen Guide | Compared to Sanbao Village, this is the real paradise for porcelain

Jingdezhen Guide | Compared to Sanbao Village, this is the real paradise for porcelain

🔅How can you not visit the "Sculpture Porcelain Factory" when in Jingdezhen? By sheer coincidence, the guesthouse I booked was right next to it, just a short walk away, which was super convenient. 🔅I came here before it got dark on Sunday evening, and there were quite a lot of people around. The roads on both sides were lined with porcelain shops, offering a dazzling array of items that could leave you bewildered. 🔅Many items actually have similar prices across different shops; bracelets are 10 yuan for 3, and there are many buyers. Ordinary bowls are generally around 35 yuan for 6. Personally, I'm not too fond of these, so I didn't buy any. There are also many porcelain shops with unique features in the alleys, some of which have really beautiful designs, but they are quite expensive, so I didn't make any purchases either. I came with empty hands and left with empty hands, haha. 🔅As a tourist attraction, the "Sculpture Porcelain Factory" is definitely worth a visit. It's quite large, with many alleys, and you can bargain for porcelain. Aside from the unique shops in the alleys, the styles sold in the outside shops are mostly similar, so it's a good idea to shop around and compare prices.
