Kayaking in Langkawi’s UNESCO Geopark

Getting There Flight from Kuala Lumpur then car to Kilim Geoforest Park. Sign up for a tour which comes with a guide and includes lunch and hotel transfer for convenience. Attractions Watch eagles feeding, fish farm visit and kayak around the mangroves of Kilim Geoforest Park. From Kuah town it took us about 20 mins to get there, the we were ushered onto a speed boat to a fish farm for a short tour. We were then briefed on how to use the kayak, we could opt for a single or a double kayak. The kayaking tour starts from the open sea and then slowly leading into the inner channels of the mangroves. It’s the only chance for us to get so up closed inside the mangroves and it felt surreal! To navigate inside the mangroves requires patience and some skills as the pathways can be quite tight and it depends on the water level as well. Your guide should be able to spot some wildlife for you when you’re kayaking there. Duration Total about 5 hours from pick up to drop off. Total kayak time around 1.5-2 hours, depending on group size. Things to note Wear swimwear beneath long sleeves and long pants and use sun protection. Bring a cap. Might need a massage later on because it was quite tiring kayaking but so much fun 🤭 #couplestrip #langkawi #nature #tripblazers #malaysia #awesomepic

🇲🇾 Sunset Kayaking in Langkawi: A Tranquil Sea Adventure

#kayak #100waysoftravel Langkawi, with its picturesque beaches and tranquil waters, offers a perfect setting for a unique kayaking experience. Our adventure began with a sunset cruise, setting the stage for an evening of paddling under the vibrant hues of the setting sun. As we drifted away from the shore, the vibrant colors of the sky and the gentle lapping of the waves created a serene backdrop. Once anchored, we eagerly grabbed our kayaks, ready to explore Langkawi's scenic coastline from the sea. Kayaking at sunset added a magical element to our experience. The calm waters around Langkawi are ideal for paddlers of all skill levels, making it easy to glide over the surface while soaking in the breathtaking views of the horizon as the sun dipped below it. The sea around Langkawi is rich with marine life, and during our kayaking trip, we were lucky enough to spot various sea creatures, adding an exciting element of wildlife watching to our journey. The peaceful evening sea allowed us to paddle close to some of Langkawi's smaller islands, which are often bustling with birdlife. Paddling back towards the cruise boat with the sky now painted in deep oranges and purples was surreal. The quiet splashing of our paddles in the water and the distant sounds of the island's nightlife beginning to stir provided a perfect end to our adventurous day. ⛳️Tips for Sunset Kayaking in Langkawi: 1. Choose a Guided Tour: Opt for a guided kayaking tour if you're unfamiliar with the waters around Langkawi. 2. Wear Appropriate Gear: Even though the waters are calm, a life jacket is essential for safety. 3. Bring Waterproof Bags: Keep your electronics and valuables safe in waterproof bags. 4. Use Sun Protection: Despite the cooler evening hours, sunscreen is still a must. 5. Stay Hydrated: Bring along water to stay hydrated during the physical activity. Kayaking in Langkawi as part of a sunset cruise offered not only a chance to see the island from a new perspective but also provided an opportunity for peaceful reflection and connection with nature. It's a must-do for anyone visiting this beautiful island paradise. #LangkawiAdventures #SunsetKayaking #SeaKayak #TravelMalaysia #LangkawiIsland #PaddlePeace #NatureLovers #SunsetViews

Langkawi Mangrove Kayaking Experience

Trip to Bat cave, Fish Farm (where you have lunch) and kayaking through the mangroves at Kilim Geoforest Park. #nationalpark A must try activity that opens up your eyes to nature and its offerings. Kayaking is easy to pickup and food is cooked fresh for you when you preorder and arrive back at the fish farm after circling the mangroves. Beautiful site at Eagle point (Caught up with some eagle being fed) and learning along the way with great tour guides. Don't waste it on a boat tour, get physical. Eco-tip: feeding of the eagles are not recommended and avoid illegal eagle feeding companies. WWF might have approved some companies for the feeding. Eco tour-Flora and Fauna is a good recommendation. Average Price: 240 ringgit for 2 pax. pay about the same price (230) for a single kayak (limited single kayak available) Free transport-pickup to and fro from hotel/inn Food and restaurant -Fish Farms (order extra Fresh Seafood and multiple selections- Crabs, lobster, prawn etc) Free lunch provided (chicken fried rice with Tom yum soup and ice lemon tea with kerepok crackers) great enough for a hearty meal, taste is sedap (good) 👍🏼 things to note: buy/bring extra water (1 bottle of bottled water per person is provided), recommended to buy a waterproof casing for your phone. You leave your personal belongings on the fish farm when going to kayak, a waterproof bag pack is provided for you to bring along important items with you but the risk of capsizing and it getting wet is 2% (if you really can't kayak or onboard with a clown). only your bottoms will get wet sitting in a kayak, otherwise , bring minimal belongings, sunscreen, cap, sunglasses and camera, phone with waterproof casing to look good, feel good and take great photos. ringgit to order more food (recommended). Kayaking Through the Mangroves of Kilim Geoforest Park

#kayak #100waysoftravel #malaysia #langkawi During my visit to Langkawi, I had an incredible time kayaking through the mangroves of Kilim Karst Geoforest Park. As I paddled through the serene waters, I was surrounded by stunning landscapes of towering limestone cliffs and lush greenery. The calm waters allowed me to get up close to the diverse wildlife, including eagles soaring overhead and monkeys playing in the trees. I explored hidden lagoons and small caves, adding an adventurous touch to the journey. This experience was a perfect blend of tranquility and natural beauty, making it one of the highlights of my trip! #kayaking #outdoor #river #mangroves #holiday #watersports
