[Cairns🇦🇺] Michaelmas Cay, an island made entirely of sand

Unparalleled transparency! Michaelmas Cay [#Cairns 🇦🇺] Cairns is a town in the north of Australia! When you think of Cairns, you think of the Great Barrier Reef, the world's largest coral reef, but this time I went to one of the islands in the Great Barrier Reef 💙 After a two-and-a-half-hour boat trip from Cairns Port, I arrived at an island made of only white sand! ! Michaelmas Cay ✨✨ I was able to enjoy the coral to the fullest 😭👏 I thought that most corals were dead, but at Michaelmas Cay I was able to see live corals! ! ! I couldn't take a picture of the colorful corals because the battery ran out, but I was able to see orange and blue corals 🧡🪸💙 And, there were so many fish! The water is shallow, so you can see many different fish even without swimming 🐠 This is a spot you definitely can't miss if you come to Cairns! If you love snorkeling, be sure to check it out 🩵🩵🩵 #Australia #Trip to Australia #Overseas #Overseas travel #Ocean #Island #Remote island #Coral #Great Barrier Reef #Bird #Ship

Michaelmas cay

Michaelmas Cay, one of the Great Barrier Reef destinations accessible from Cairns, was so beautiful! 🌴✨ We enjoyed snorkeling and a semi-submersible boat ride, and at the end of the tour, we were even served fruit, cake, and champagne! 🍸 We had chocolate cake and carrot cake, and the carrot cake was especially delicious! ❤️ The whole day was incredibly satisfying! 🥰 If you're going to Cairns, I highly recommend Michaelmas Cay! ✌️✨ #0YenTravel2025Autumn #Australia #Cairns #GreatBarrierReef #cairns #greatbarrierreef #Michaelmascay #Michaelmascay #Oceanspirit

Jewelled sea - natural wonder downunder

It has always been one of my bucket lists to visit the Great Barrier Reef and it certainly did not disappoint! The weather was perfect on our sailing day with cerulean blue sky and light breeze. We booked a cruise tour which included two reef locations- Saxon Reef and Hasting Reef. It was one of the most amazing experience ever! The two sites were quite different in terms of their marine landscapes and great for different activities. The Saxon Reef was relatively greater in depth and would be a perfect location for a dive, whereas Hasting Reef has spectacular coral reef at proximity even when snorkelling. We saw a huge local fish called ‘Wally’ (Maori Wrasse) and many other marine life! Would love to visit another reef next time! Tips: even if the sea was calm, highly recommend to take sea sickness prevention pills in advance. #greatbarrierreef #naturalwonders #queensland #cairns #australia

Welsh’s Pyramid Mountain

Welsh’s Pyramid Mountain

Walshs Pyramid is an independent peak with a distinct pyramidal appearance, located within Wooroonooran National Park, 20 km south of Cairns, Queensland, Australia. An annual footrace is held on the third Saturday in August, to its summit. A very steep walk/ rock climb ! You need a reasonable amount of fitness to finish this. I recommend starting early - it took about 4 hours for me, from 7am to 11am. I carried 2 litres of water with me and that was fine. I would recommend bringing a snack to keep you going - it's a tough one. Do not attempt this in summer because there is not much shade. After the rain do not attempt because a lot of the walking/ climbing is over rocks that get really slippery after rain. It gets really warm so bring a hat! I've seen kids do it but you definitely wanna make sure you're bringing fit kids up.

[Australia 7 nights 10 days]

#0yentripnovember 1st photo: Great Barrier Reef After snorkeling, we had lunch on board and took a helicopter tour of the Great Barrier Reef. The heliport on the sea is spectacular! It was cloudy that day, but it was so beautiful even with the iPhone camera! It would have been even more beautiful if it had been a sunny day. 2nd photo: Hosier Ln, Melbourne Each of Melbourne's major tourist attractions is less than 20 minutes away on foot, so of course the transportation is convenient, but it's also nice to walk while enjoying the cityscape! 3rd photo: Ayers Rock A well-known World Heritage Site! It has been impossible to climb since 2019, but it's beautiful even just to look at it from the outside! It was a vast world of nature where you can feel the efforts of the local people to keep it beautiful! 4th photo: Kuranda Railway Speaking of Cairns! The Kuranda Railway, which has been used in trains around the world, is famous for being able to see the entire train from the bridge! Kuranda, the destination, is also a small and cute town! Please do!

Great Barrier Reef: A Natural Ocean Masterpiece

Great Barrier Reef: A Natural Ocean Masterpiece

The Great Barrier Reef, Australia's ocean treasure, is like a dreamlike underwater garden lying quietly off the northeast coast. It is the most spectacular coral reef in the world, stretching over 2,000 km, with countless coral reef islands scattered throughout, and its size is astonishing. The coral here is diverse in species and forms. Some corals are like ancient trees, with branches and leaves that shelter marine life from the wind and rain; some are like exquisite works of art, with rounded shapes and delicate textures that show the craftsmanship of nature; others are like fireworks, with brilliant colors and unique shapes that instantly light up the entire underwater space. Colorful tropical fish swim happily among the corals, with the playfulness of clownfish and the elegance of angelfish, they complement each other with the corals, creating vivid and lively pictures. Sea turtles, dolphins, dugongs, and other marine life also shuttle among them, adding infinite vitality and energy to this sea area. The Great Barrier Reef not only provides a paradise for marine life to live and reproduce but also brings an indescribable wonderful experience to humans. Diving enthusiasts can go deep into the sea to get close to the corals and fish and feel the rhythm of life; taking a glass-bottom boat, you can clearly see the wonders of the underwater world, as if you are in a transparent aquarium; overlooking from a helicopter, you can see the magnificent panorama of the Great Barrier Reef, and the majestic momentum is shocking. It is a precious gift from nature to mankind, a marine wonder that deserves our care and attention.

How to get to Whitehaven Beach

How to get to Whitehaven Beach

✈️? There are two airports in the Whitsunday Islands: Airlie Beach Airport (PPP) | Hamilton Island Airport (HIT) (ferry connection between the two locations) 📌Recommended attractions: 📍Sunset sailing: Enjoy delicious food while watching the sunset on a wooden sailboat. 📍Hardy Reef: Choose from snorkeling, diving, a 10-minute helicopter tour, or visit the underwater observatory and semi-submarine. 📍Heart Reef: A heart-shaped natural coral reef. The view from a plane is absolutely stunning and visually impressive~! 📍Whitehaven Beach: The world's most beautiful beach. The entire beach is so white that it seems unreal~ 📝Things to note: 🔸Staying in Airlie Beach is more convenient than Hamilton Island, with more activities and relatively lower prices. 🔸Check the weather forecast before planning your trip, as rainy weather can significantly detract from the beauty of the Whitsunday Islands. 🔸Book all activities in advance for holidays (important!!), otherwise, it would be a pity to miss out. 🧀Food recommendations: 🍝La Marina: A popular Italian restaurant in the Whitsunday Islands. 🥩Hog's Breath Cafe: One of the best steakhouses in Australia. 🍹Fish D'vine & The Rum Bar: The best mojito in the world.

Great Barrier Reef: A Natural Underwater Wonderland

Great Barrier Reef: A Natural Underwater Wonderland

The Great Barrier Reef, Australia's marine treasure, is a vibrant and mysterious underwater wonderland. It stretches across the northeastern waters of Australia like a giant underwater Great Wall. The coral reefs here come in various shapes and sizes, some resembling towering spires that plunge deep into the ocean, others like undulating mountain ranges rising and falling between the sandy seas, and some like exquisite bonsai, small and delicate. The colors of the corals are even more dazzling, with reds like blazing fire, pinks like peach blossoms, yellows like the sun, and whites like winter snow, creating a stunning underwater painting with the tropical fish swimming among them. From tiny plankton to massive whale sharks, the Great Barrier Reef provides a habitat for countless marine creatures, a paradise for them to thrive and reproduce. The Great Barrier Reef is also a paradise for adventurers. Divers can explore the depths of the ocean, discovering shipwrecks and experiencing the fusion of history and nature. Anglers can enjoy the thrill of fishing in these waters, reeling in a bountiful catch and battling with big fish. For ordinary tourists, a ride on a glass-bottom boat or a stroll on the white sandy beaches, basking in the warm sunshine and breathing in the slightly salty sea air, is enough to be enchanted and appreciate the magical gift that nature has bestowed upon humanity.

🇦🇺Whitsundays | The flight that changed how I saw the Reef 🪸✈️

If you think the Great Barrier Reef is stunning from the water, wait until you see it from the sky. I’d snorkelled it before, floated above its coral gardens, and watched turtles glide beneath me — but flying over the reef? That’s a whole new level of magic. 🛫 Taking Off from Shute Harbour The journey started at Shute Harbour, a peaceful spot just outside Airlie Beach that feels tucked away from the busier marina. I boarded a small scenic plane — just a few seats, a window for everyone, and the pilot casually chatting through his headset like we were old friends. As we lifted off the runway, the calm waters of the harbour quickly gave way to the vast blue canvas of the Coral Sea. Within minutes, we were soaring above reef-studded water, and the colours were like nothing I’d ever seen: pale turquoise shallows, deep sapphire channels, and huge coral formations swirling below like underwater brushstrokes. 💙 The Famous Heart Reef The star of the flight? Without question — Heart Reef. It’s tiny, delicate, and perfectly shaped like a love heart. Too small to snorkel and only visible from above, it’s tucked inside its own protected lagoon. Our pilot circled it slowly, giving everyone a chance to soak it in and snap photos. No matter how many times you’ve seen it on postcards or online, seeing it in real life is something else entirely. 🏝 Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet from the Air We then cruised toward Whitehaven Beach, where the iconic Hill Inlet came into view. From the air, those swirling white sands mixing with aqua water are absolutely mesmerising — like watching a living painting shift with the tides. You can even spot stingrays gliding in the shallows and see the flow patterns etched into the beach from above. 🐠 A Reminder of Why This Place Matters The whole flight lasted just under an hour, but it gave me a totally new perspective on the reef — not just how vast it is, but how fragile and beautiful. It’s one of those experiences that stays with you long after the wheels touch back down. If you ever find yourself in the Whitsundays and want to do something unforgettable, take the flight. Trust me — the view from above is pure magic. #cityplaybook
