📍The History of Spinalonga, the Island of the Lepers in Crete, Greek Island 🏠 Spinalonga is situated in the natural harbor of Elounda in the Lassithi in Crete. It’s known in the world, inhabited leper community between 1903 to 1957 and this was one of the last active leper colonies in Europe, population reached nearly 400 inhabitants during the outbreak of the illness. Infected people were sent to isolation. In Greece, the isolation center was on the island of Spinalonga. Today, Spinalonga, is one of the most visited archaeological site of Crete, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the greatest historical landmarks in Greece, with people from all over the world arriving in Crete to explore this island. There are a few houses renovated to museums and you would be able to get a glimpse of inhabitants everyday living here. How to get there? There are regular ferry service across the island from Elounda town which is only 20-30 mins away, entry tickets can be purchased once you arrive on the island. I stayed at a small seaside inn, where opening the window revealed the magnificent view of Mirabello Bay. Every morning, I enjoyed breakfast on the balcony, watching the sunrise over the bay and feeling the tranquility and peace of the city. #EuropeTravel Beautiful place, the view is amazing. It was really great! We stayed by the sea. The bungalow in front of me was spacious, comfortable, clean, modern and just steps from the beach. It is not a small resort but no matter where you go the experience is always intimate, luxurious and peaceful. The food was great, the staff was always very friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. The resort itself was stunningly beautiful. The only two small recommendations I would make would be to upgrade the TV in the room so it can be connected to the phone and to develop a way to wash your sandy feet after coming back from the beach to the room. But those really small details don't mean much. We had a great time and sincerely hope to come back here. A special and unique hotel that really surprised us! It is quite large but looks like a boutique hotel. The hotel stretches out over a large section of the beach and has private sunbeds and plenty of privacy and time to relax. We had a beachfront bungalow with a nice terrace and direct sea view. The water is very clear and nice. There are two small beaches with sand and another area on the rocks which is pretty nice. Breakfast and food was great and the staff were very friendly.

Zakyntho. Minos beach Art hotel.Zakynthos You can choose the time when booking tickets on the website. You can get to Terminal A in advance to take the bus for 26€/person and the ride takes about 4 and a half hours. You can stop for 20mins on the way to buy snacks and 🚻～ We initially thought that it was included with the boat ticket, but when we got to the port we found that we were the only ones without tickets. We urgently went to the ticket office and bought another boat ticket for 12.5€/person (you should be able to buy it together online or in advance at the ticket office while waiting for the bus). The bus will drive onto the boat and you will take this bus again after getting off the boat. Remember which hotel you took. We stayed at the Alexandra Beach Resort & Spa, which was really nice! ! The price for two of us for three nights was 414€. The bedroom and living room are separated. Both rooms have large French windows. You can see the sea from the balcony when you open them. It is so nice to sit on the small table on the balcony and have a nice meal in the evening. The hotel breakfast, pool bar are all very good, and the service is also very good. I really recommend it! Restaurant recommendation: Afrala Restaurant (Google score 4.8) as shown in Figure 4. We ordered fish fillet, squid and appetizer bread, all of which were pretty good. The environment and service were very good. It's quite suitable for taking pictures~ The Halfway House (Google score 4.8) as shown in Figure 5. We ordered lamb chops and seafood pasta, which was really good! The strawberry milkshake is also very good. I highly recommend Spicy Ginger, I really love it! ! (If you like ginger drinks) Kaliva Pub (Google 4.5 points bar) There are ladies singing in the evening. The atmosphere is very good. You will order a fairy wand when you are served the drinks. It is quite suitable for taking pictures. Shipwreck Bay, check in the filming location of Descendants of the Sun ~ We booked the tickets at the hotel front desk. Walk for about 5 minutes to another hotel entrance to take a bus to the port to take a boat. The boat will stop halfway for everyone to go swimming. It is recommended to wear the swimsuit directly inside and then take it off. There is also a place to change on the boat. The sand in Shipwreck Bay is really painful. It is recommended that everyone wear slippers or beach shoes. The water is really super blue. There are really a lot of people. After stopping for an hour, the boat will return the same way.
