Went to Belfast for graduation...had a great time !!!

🌊 The Giant Causeway truly looks like something from another planet, made up of over 40,000 interlocking, hexagonal basalt columns that step down into the crashing waves like a massive, natural staircase. Standing out there on the rocks with the salt spray in your face feels completely magical. 🪄 🪨 The stones are located about 20-30 minutes away from the entry point. Because private cars are strictly forbidden on this path, you have two options to get down to the shoreline: 👟 👟 Option 1: The Scenic Walk (Free)You can take a direct, fully paved 15-minute downhill stroll. It is an incredibly beautiful walk with ocean views the whole way. Just a heads up: The walk back up is quite a steep incline, so be prepared for a bit of a workout on your return! 🚌 Option 2: The Shuttle Bus (£1) If you want to save your energy, jump on the official shuttle bus that runs back and forth. It departs roughly every 15 minutes and costs just £1 each way. 💡 Pro-Tip:Do what most travelers do—enjoy the beautiful, easy walk down to the stones for free, and then pay £1 to take the shuttle bus back up the steep hill! You will see a long que for the return bus. ⚠️ Please make sure to wear comfortable shoes with good grip! The ocean spray makes those unique hexagonal stones incredibly wet and slippery. I saw a few people sliding around, so take your time when climbing out onto the columns. 💙 Overall, the trip was amazing and we enjoyed every minute of it. #GiantsCauseway #NorthernIreland #UKTravel #BucketListDestinations #TravelTips

Belfast's public transport network, operated primarily by Translink, consists of Metro buses, Metro Gliders, and trains. This convenient network covers the city and surrounding areas. The main payment methods are contactless cards, mobile apps, and cash, with smart cards offering reduced fares. Metro buses: Pink, yellow, and blue buses serving the city's main corridors. Gliders: Rapid buses (similar to trams) operating on dedicated lanes. NIR trains: Convenient for travel to the suburbs and to attractions such as the Giant's Causeway. Cost: A single ticket costs around £2.10, but Smartlink travelcards offer better value. When paying in cash, it's recommended to have the exact amount ready. What to do: Belfast Castle - A castle in a country park with a playground, visitor center, antique shop, and restaurant. Open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Free admission. Over its long history of over a century, it has earned a reputation for selling high-quality local produce. Open Friday through Sunday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Cathedral Quarter - The area around Belfast Cathedral is one of the most culturally rich parts of the city, with medieval streets, galleries, shops, and cafes. On Saturdays, a cultural fair is held here, where you can sample local food, buy handmade items, and enjoy live music. In Belfast, the "Walls of Peace" are the actual walls that once separated the city's Catholic and Protestant quarters. Quite a few of them still remain. These Belfast landmarks remind residents of the difficult times of struggle between the Irish and the English. Outside the city: Giant's Causeway. Admission is free (bypassing the Visitor Centre). You can get there from Belfast city center by taking the direct Translink Goldline bus 221, which departs once daily (outbound 9:25 - 10:55, return 14:45 - 16:20). Another option is to use a train and bus. Take the train from Grand Central Station to Coleraine Station (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes), then change at the nearby bus station for buses 172 or 402 to the Giant's Causeway. The roundtrip fare is approximately £28.#Europe #uk #belfast #northernireland

If you're planning a trip to Belfast, I highly recommend adding Titanic Belfast to your must-visit list. Even if you're not a huge history buff, anyone who has seen the movie "Titanic" will definitely feel a deep connection here. Many people don't realize that the Titanic was actually built right here in Belfast! Constructed by the Harland & Wolff shipyard, the ship was launched in 1911 and set off on its maiden voyage in 1912, only to tragically strike an iceberg and sink, becoming one of the most famous maritime disasters in history. The museum's exterior is incredibly striking. The architectural design represents the ship's bow and the iceberg, making it highly distinctive even from a distance. It's undeniably the most iconic landmark in Belfast. I suggest setting aside about 2 hours for your visit. This gives you plenty of time to explore each exhibition area without feeling rushed. The museum is laid out chronologically, starting with Belfast's booming shipbuilding industry at the time. It then walks you step-by-step through the Titanic's design concepts, construction process, luxurious amenities, the story of its maiden voyage, and ultimately, the tragic sinking. Beyond just models, photos, and historical artifacts, there are plenty of interactive zones, so you won't just be reading text the whole time. My absolute top recommendation is to experience the Shipyard Ride inside! Hop into a small car that takes you on a journey through the shipyard, simulating the experience of the workers building the Titanic. You get to see the massive scale of the hull, the heavy machinery, and the gritty working conditions of the time. It's incredibly immersive and easily one of the most popular exhibits in the entire museum. Additionally, the 4D experience is well worth checking out. With vibrating seats, surround sound, and environmental effects, it truly makes you feel like you've traveled back in time to the era of the Titanic's construction and launch. Best of all, it's included in the standard admission ticket—no extra fee required! Along the way, you'll also pick up plenty of fascinating trivia that you probably didn't know before, for example: 🚢 The Titanic was about 269 meters long, making it the largest passenger ship in the world at the time. 🚢 Over 15,000 workers were involved in its construction. 🚢 The first-class facilities were unbelievably luxurious, featuring a swimming pool, Turkish bath, gym, and elevators—mind-blowingly advanced for over a century ago. 🚢 The wreckage wasn't discovered by scientists until 1985, roughly 73 years after the ship sank. By the time you finish your tour, you'll realize this museum isn't just about the Titanic; it's a comprehensive tribute to Belfast's proud shipbuilding heritage. Whether you're a movie fan, a history enthusiast, or a first-time visitor to Northern Ireland, I strongly suggest working Titanic Belfast into your itinerary. It will be even more rewarding than you imagined.

🇮🇪Classic Ireland Island Tour (7-10 days) Itinerary Reference 1️⃣Dublin (2 days): Trinity College, Guinness Distillery 2️⃣Galway & Cliffs of Moher (1-2 days): Early morning visit to the cliffs is recommended to avoid crowds and enjoy the best lighting. 3️⃣Kerry Loop & Dingle Peninsula (2 days): The highlight of the self-drive tour; the Skelliger Loop offers even wilder scenery than the main loop. 4️⃣Cork & Cove (1 day): Colorful towns, the last port of call for the Titanic. 5️⃣Northern Ireland (2 days): Belfast Titanic Memorial, Giant's Causeway 🎬Must-Visit for Movie and TV Fans 🔸Game of Thrones: The Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland is the inspiration for the King's Road, and Ward Estate is also featured. 🔸Star Wars: Skellig Michael Isle, Luke's retreat in The Force Awakens. ⚠️ Important Border Reminders ▪️Currency: Ireland uses Euros, Northern Ireland uses British Pounds ▪️Visa: Hong Kong SAR passport holders are visa-free to both sides; however, BNO holders are not exempt in the Republic of Ireland and must obtain a visa in advance. ▪️Mobile Phone: Internet connection may be temporarily interrupted when crossing the border by car; download offline maps beforehand. 🚗 Self-Driving Guide The ideal way to travel is by car. Here are 4️⃣ key tips: 🔹Right-hand drive, left-hand traffic: Familiarize yourself with the parking lot after picking up your car. 🔹Narrow Country Roads: Roads shown as 80 km/h on navigation may actually be too narrow for oncoming traffic; one vehicle must yield to the other. 🔹Manual transmissions are cheaper: Automatic transmissions are more expensive and less common; book in advance. 🔹Purchase full insurance: Country roads often have stone walls and brambles on both sides; scratching car doors is common on narrow roads. 🏨 Accommodation & Food 🍴 ▫️Accommodation: Outside of Dublin, B&Bs (family-run guesthouses) offer more authentic experiences than restaurants, and you can enjoy a homemade Irish breakfast. ▫️Must-Try: Seafood chowder with rye soda bread, stewed lamb, and don't miss the Guinness beef stew at the pub. 💡 Pre-Trip Preparations 🌟Weather & Clothing: Experience all four seasons in one day; a waterproof and windproof jacket is essential. Bring a cheap umbrella (it's easily damaged in strong winds). 🌟Payment: Credit cards are widely accepted; you don't need to exchange too much cash. 🌟Transportation Card: Dublin has the Leap Card, which can be used on buses and light rail. #Ireland #Dublin #NorthernIreland #IrelandTravel #IrelandTourism #TravelGuide #OverseasTravelGuide #EndOfTheWorld #UnbeatableSeascape

📍 Place: Belfast, Northern Ireland ✨ What it felt like: Walking through the city center felt easy and relaxed. The compact layout made it simple to explore on foot, while the historic buildings, lively markets, and local cafés gave the city a warm and approachable atmosphere. 👀 What stood out: The waterfront area around Titanic Belfast immediately caught my attention. The modern architecture stood out against the city's historic backdrop, and there was always something interesting to see along the harbor. I also enjoyed discovering the famous street murals and learning about Belfast’s history through the neighborhoods. St. George’s Market added a local touch, with food stalls, crafts, and a lively atmosphere that felt authentic rather than touristy. The views from higher points around the city were another highlight, especially as the evening light settled over Belfast and the surrounding hills. 💡 Exclusive tip: Set aside time to explore beyond the main attractions. In Belfast, where industrial heritage meets contemporary creativity, the capital of Northern Ireland carries a history that is visible, complex, and impossible to separate from the city itself. Once one of the world’s great shipbuilding centers, Belfast’s identity was shaped by steel, labor, and the sea. The skyline and docklands still echo that legacy — most famously through the story of the RMS Titanic, built here at the historic Harland & Wolff shipyards. Along the revitalized waterfront, the city looks both backward and forward at once. But Belfast is not defined by industry alone. Its streets tell layered stories through architecture, neighborhoods, and political murals that turn walls into public memory. Victorian buildings, red-brick terraces, markets, music venues, and independent cafés coexist in a city that continues to reinterpret itself. Walk through the Cathedral Quarter, and another side of Belfast emerges — lively, creative, textured by street art, conversation, and late-evening music drifting through narrow lanes. What makes Belfast compelling is its honesty. It does not hide its past, nor remain trapped inside it. The city carries its history openly while continuously reshaping what comes next. 📍 Location: Belfast, United Kingdom ⚓ Known for: Maritime heritage, Titanic legacy, murals, evolving cultural scene 🏙️ Highlights: Waterfront district, Cathedral Quarter, historic shipbuilding identity 💡 Travel tip: Explore both the docklands and inner-city neighborhoods — Belfast’s character lies in the contrast. In Belfast, history is not kept at a distance. It lives directly on the walls, streets, and shoreline.

Some cities are memorable for their architecture, cuisine, or weather. Then there’s Belfast—a city built on contrasts. Steel and history, protest and freedom, the past and a bold present intertwine here in such a way that it’s almost impossible to leave unchanged. Belfast is often called the city of the Titanic, and that’s no mere metaphor. It was right here, in its shipyards, that the legendary ocean liner was built. Today, this chapter of history isn't swept under the rug; it's reimagined. A massive museum complex, rising like an iceberg of glass and metal, tells the story not just of the ship, but of the people who built it. It’s a tale of ambition, engineering brilliance, and the heavy price of mistakes. But Belfast is more than its industrial past. It’s a city of students, vibrant energy, and inner freedom. The university campuses have a life of their own: lectures by day, live music by evening, and endless late-night conversations about politics, culture, and the future. The youth infuse the city with a sense of lightness, despite its complex history. Belfast’s streets read like an open book. Murals on the walls speak of conflicts, identity, and hope. Yet, right alongside them, you'll find cozy coffee shops, independent bookstores, and traditional pubs where it’s easy to lose track of time listening to local bands. Belfast doesn’t try to be perfect. It’s authentic. A little rough around the edges, but warm at heart. It’s a city where the past isn't erased but is instead used as a foundation to move forward. And perhaps that’s exactly why it’s so captivating—a place where you don't just witness history, you truly feel what it means to be free.

Whether it's your first time in London or you're returning to this blend of classic and modern, Big Ben always deserves your gaze. 📍 Location and Transportation Big Ben is located in the heart of Westminster, London, right next to the Palace of Westminster and Westminster Abbey. Take the subway to Westminster Station, and you’ll see its magnificent silhouette as soon as you exit. It’s recommended not to rush forward after leaving the station—stand at the Westminster Bridge entrance, and you’ll see the perfect reflection of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster in the Thames. 🌸 Best Seasons to Visit: Spring and Autumn Spring (April to June) offers mild weather in London, with spring flowers blooming along the Thames, creating a picturesque scene with Big Ben’s classical architecture. Autumn (September to October) features clear skies and soft clouds, with the sunset casting a golden edge on the clock tower, perfect for dramatic light and shadow photography. Summer tends to be crowded; to avoid the crowds, visit early in the morning or at dusk. 🎫 Visitor Information · Exterior viewing: Completely free and open all day · Interior tours: Available by booking through the UK Parliament’s official website, but spots are limited, so book months in advance · Lighting hours: From sunset to midnight, Big Ben is especially stunning when illuminated at night 📸 Top Photo Spots Recommended 1. Opposite side of Westminster Bridge: Stand on the southeast side of the bridge to capture the classic view of Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, and the River Thames together. 2. London Eye: Ride the London Eye to the top for a panoramic postcard-style photo of the entire Westminster area on a clear day. 3. South Bank Thames Path: Walk west along the riverbank to find many lesser-known angles, avoiding crowds and enjoying the clock tower’s beauty in peace. 4. Westminster Station exit: This angle offers an upward shot of Big Ben, ideal for architecture photography enthusiasts. 🌟 Travel Tips and Unique Experiences · Listen to the chimes: Big Ben rings every 15 minutes, with a deep, resonant sound on the hour, the most moving background music in London. · Combine nearby attractions: Plan to visit the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, and Churchill War Rooms together, all within walking distance. · River cruise perspective: Take a Thames River cruise to admire Big Ben from the water for a completely different experience. · Night stroll: After dark, when the lights come on, a riverside walk is especially romantic and the golden hour for night photography. 💡 Essential Pre-Trip Tips · Big Ben was wrapped for years due to renovation but has now reappeared with a clean, new clock face · The area is busy with cyclists and sightseeing buses, so be careful when crossing streets · To enter the Palace of Westminster, be sure to book in advance on the official Parliament website · Weekends and holidays are crowded; it’s best to visit on weekday mornings · -- Big Ben is more than just a clock tower; it is a witness to London’s centuries of history. It carries the memory of an empire and welcomes the world’s gaze. When you stand by the Thames and hear its chimes piercing through London’s mist, you’ll understand—the city’s story unfolds with every tick of the clock.

Breakfast is a real highlight here and feels intentionally part of the experience rather than an afterthought. It’s served in a cozy dining area and focuses on freshly prepared options as well as a small buffet. You can even have it delivered to your room for a cozy breakfast in bed. With ornaments around the breakfast hall and decor, it’s extra festive during the Christmas season. #hellochristmas

Taking a cruise from Glasgow to Belfast only costs £25 (just need a railcard). You can buy tickets directly on Trainpal from Glasgow Central to Belfast Port, the whole trip takes about 6 hours. Just follow the crowd whenever you transfer trains. Although there are many transfers which can be a bit troublesome, the whole journey is really enjoyable—feeling the sea breeze and watching the scenery. It’s been a long time since I took a cruise 🛳️ and I still love the feeling of floating on the ocean, being firmly supported by the earth 🥰. In Belfast, I booked a Giant’s Causeway day tour with McComb (around £200). We gathered at the city center at 8:30 AM and returned around 5:30 PM. The driver made sure everyone got off at every stop 😂 to deeply experience each attraction, and shared lots of interesting stories along the way. Luckily, the weather was great that day and the scenery was absolutely stunning! The bus ride was never boring. Every stop was also great for photos. I’m falling more in love with my Olympus camera 📷. The Giant’s Causeway is on a very high cliff by the sea, with super strong winds making my hair fly wildly. Climbing up was tough—I really felt like Arya Stark on the run 🤣. But the view with the naked eye really looked like the White Cliffs hh. Since we had over an hour to explore the Giant’s Causeway, after coming down we went to a nearby hotel bar to have some hot chocolate ☕️ to warm up completely.
