However, after visiting it in person, I found out that Changbai Mountain is a volcano and Tianchi is a crater lake. The surrounding geology is bare and barren, like the terrain of Mars, without a trace of life. Due to the high and dangerous terrain of Changbai Mountain, Tianchi has become the highest crater lake in the world, but the weather is also bad and it is shrouded in gray clouds all year round. When I visited, I was a little disappointed that the lake was not as beautiful as Lake Mashu because there was no sunshine and the lake water was not transparent blue. However, Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain plays a very important role in the performance.
