The park named after the famous monk and general, Samyeong Daesa, is Samyeong Daesa Park at the entrance of Jikjisa Temple. The huge 5-story pagoda is an observation deck. The Gimcheon Museum is right next to it, so it's nice to look around. The Buddhist culture is on full display, so it's worth seeing... In Gimcheon, Jikjisa Temple is a tourist attraction. I started my tour at Jikji Cultural Park on Buddha's Birthday, the last weekend of May, on a rainy spring day. It's been nearly 20 years since 2004, and this is Jikjisa Temple and Jikji Cultural Park in Gimcheon. The water fountain park... the waterfall artificial sculptures are beautiful. The stream flowing from Hwangaksan Mountain runs down the park... Gimcheon is famous for Jikjisa Temple, but since you can't enter after sunset, I went to Samyeongdaesa Park right next to it. I was curious about this wonderful building called the Peace Tower. When I actually saw it, it was magnificent and wonderful even when I saw it up close, but it was also very antique and wonderful when I saw it from afar with the background! The pavilion next to the large watermill was located on the perfect course for people to rest, and it blended in with the mountain behind it, so it was just a work of art. The Peace Tower at Samyeongdaesa Park is magnificent and beautiful even without the night view! You can visit up to the first floor of the tower, but on that day, I couldn't go in because it was past the opening hours or it was closed, but I think it's open now. It turns out that this café was converted from an old Saemaul Savings Bank, giving it a nostalgic vibe. #summervacay So I ended up exploring around Gimsasgasmunhaggwan in Gimcheon, and it was such a random but super cool little outing. It’s not your typical “mountain hike” kinda place, it’s more of a blend of peaceful trails, nature, and a splash of cultural history tucked into the woods. The walk around the area is super chill. Think quiet forest paths, scattered stone steps, and little pagoda-style buildings that make you stop and go, “Whoa, this is pretty.” Not steep at all, just gentle slopes and lots of shade. Great for wandering and letting your mind wander too. There’s this peaceful, almost temple-like vibe to the place. It’s calm, not crowded, and has that slower rhythm that makes you forget about all your notifications. I took it slow, snapped some pics, and snacked under a tree like a total nature bum. If you’re in the Gimcheon area and want something super relaxed with a touch of cultural charm, Gimsasgasmunhaggwan is worth the stroll.

You start off walking this tree-lined path with little shops and street food spots, super laid-back, not crowded at all. I grabbed some hotteok (obviously) and just kept wandering. The temple itself is tucked right into the mountains at 216 Unsuri, and it’s stunning. Classic temple vibes, colorful rooftops, calm courtyards, and those little lanterns everywhere. It’s got this quiet energy that just makes you want to slow down and breathe deeper. Also, the sound of running water from the nearby stream? Instant mood-lifter. Even if you're not super into temples, the walk alone is worth it. Lots of space, fresh mountain air, and just enough uphill to feel like you're doing something without breaking a sweat. Bring comfy shoes, maybe a snack, and just vibe. Jikjisa’s the perfect combo of nature, culture, and chill. Would totally go again.
