Along the way, the cool mountain air soothed our restless hearts, while the chorus of cicadas seemed to cheer us on! At a bend in the mountain path, the sound of flowing water greeted us. Sitting on a swing chair by the stream, with a gentle breeze caressing our faces and watching children play in the water, the feeling was pure bliss! On a scorching summer day, watermelon and cola in the water are the ultimate combo! 🍉🥤 Rolling up our pants and stepping into the stream, the icy mountain spring instantly refreshed us—simply exhilarating! Each of Wulongtan’s pools has its own charm, and when the water is abundant in summer, the sight is absolutely breathtaking! Continuing deeper into the mountains, we reached the Banshan Banshui Resort in just over ten minutes. This isn’t your ordinary scenic spot—it’s a natural playground! Adventure towers, crystal towers, apple wood bridges... you name it! Bring your kids here, and they’ll never want to leave! The beautiful time of the small forest trail between Shenxi Village and Pan'ao Reservoir is in late autumn and early winter. At the beginning of the trail, the mountains around Pan'ao Reservoir are green and the forest is dyed. The colorful trees are reflected in the water, adding visual weight, and when an egret suddenly breaks into the picture and breaks the balance, the tranquility is more apparent in the movement. After a short walk through the colorful reservoir road, you will reach a campsite in a pine forest at the source of the reservoir. This is also a gathering place for all kinds of ancient trees, with strange shapes and postures, reminiscent of the trees in ink paintings. And thinking of the one-person package here last year, the open-air market and the hustle and bustle of the camping site in front of me made me feel like a different world. Crossing the campsite to the west is the highlight of the Pan'ao Small Forest Trail, a forest of camphor trees, golden pine trees, and more than a dozen other trees that cover the sky, with paths crisscrossing beneath them, wooden houses, stone benches, and tables dotted among them, and the golden pine leaves on the paths like a "golden ancient path" that draws my eyes to the colorful "Nanhua Ancient Path" on the mountain. The Pan'ao Small Forest Trail goes down after crossing the top of the mountain to a fork in the road. To the east, you can cross the entire Pan'ao back to the campsite, which is a 2-3 km mini loop for parents and children. If you choose to go west, you can reach Shenxi Village after crossing a farm.
