2025 Kuala Abang Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in July)

We started our road trip from Kuantan early in the morning, excited for our first ever family adventure in Terengganu. First stop: Pasar Payang; a must-visit for shopping and ole-ole hunting. From traditional batik to local snacks, it was the perfect way to kick off the trip. Of course, a quick detour to a keropok lekor shop was necessary.. no visit to Terengganu is complete without bringing home some freshly made keropok ikan! We then made our way to the iconic Drawbridge (Jambatan Angkat) just to soak in the view and snap some family photos. For our prayer stop, we visited the stunning Masjid Kristal.. beautiful inside and out, and so serene. By evening, we arrived in Dungun, where we stayed at a hidden gem: Coastal Bay Dungun Staycation. The homestay is right in front of the beach..literally a few steps from the sand. We were lucky enough to catch a mesmerizing sunrise the next morning. The sea breeze, the calm waves, the peaceful vibes.. everything felt just right. No worries about food here! There were plenty of local eateries nearby ; ikan celup tepung everywhere, and we couldn’t resist trying a few local coffee shops too. We truly enjoyed this short trip.
