Lijiang is beautiful, but there are also many tourist traps...I've summarized some points for you to check out 👀 ✈️ Travel: We chose to fly directly from Changsha to Lijiang (just two hours to arrive). You can also choose to transfer in Kunming, which would be more economical. ⚠️ Things to avoid!! 1. Many fruit vendors in the Old Town - most I bought from were disappointing. The monstera fruit, sugar apple, and dragon fruit weren't tasty 2. Whether it's souvenirs, clothes, or jewelry, you really need to compare prices at multiple shops + bargain. The three specialties of Dali, Lijiang and Lugu Lake: firewood chicken, mushroom stone pot chicken and steam stone pot fish. I chose Hongfeng Restaurant on Shangri-La Avenue in Lijiang Ancient Town and ordered the signature firewood chicken. The boss would first light the fire, heat the pan and stir-fry it quickly over high heat, then cover the pan and simmer it until cooked. The whole cooking method is very similar to Hong Kong-style Huadiao chicken, and the taste is also similar to Sanbei, salty and fragrant. What’s more special is that it doesn’t come with white rice, but pot-side pancakes, which are served with salty and fragrant chicken. I have a special impression of Lijiang because of the TV series "Mu Mansion", so I made a special trip to visit it during this trip to Yunnan. Lijiang Ancient Town is located in the middle of Lijiang Basin, with an altitude of more than 2,400 meters. It has the advantage of being backed by mountains to avoid the cold, storing wind and gathering energy, and it is like spring all year round. Winter in Lijiang is my favorite. As a southerner, the dry climate here is perfect for me. On sunny days, wearing two layers of clothes is as comfortable as autumn. However, if you plan to go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain 🏔️, you need to wear a down jacket. Fortunately, there are shops at the foot of the mountain where you can rent one. Scarves 🧣 and hats 🧢 can also be easily bought in the ancient town. The wind on the mountain is strong, and even on sunny days 🌞, the temperature is still low, making it feel cold. The water in Blue Moon Valley is still crystal clear, and the blue lake and snow-capped mountains complement each other, making you want to stay there for a while.
