Prague Castle, standing proudly on the western bank of the Vltava River in the Czech capital, is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the cultural heart of Prague. This thousand-year-old castle carries the glorious history of Bohemia, drawing countless travelers to uncover its stories. My journey began on a serene morning, climbing the ancient stone steps beside Charles Bridge. The stone walls and dim streetlights on either side seemed to transport me into a medieval painting, while the distant sound of bells added a touch of mystery to the experience. Entering the castle, the majestic silhouette of St. Vitus Cathedral took my breath away. Its Gothic spires pierced the sky, and sunlight streaming through the stained glass windows cast a kaleidoscope of colors, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Inside the cathedral, the St. Wenceslas Chapel dazzled with its gem-encrusted decorations and murals, showcasing a harmonious blend of religion and art that left me spellbound. Next, I stepped into the Old Royal Palace, where the spacious Vladislav Hall, though simple in design, exuded the solemn dignity of past royal power, as if the echoes of history could still be heard. Golden Lane added a vibrant touch to the castle. I paused at one of the small stores to purchase a handcrafted souvenir engraved with Prague's emblem as a keepsake of this journey. From the castle's viewpoint, the panoramic view of Prague unfolded before me. On the recommendation of the B&B owner, we visited Pivovarská Restaurace, the restaurant where he used to work, to taste the most authentic Czech beer and pork dishes. It was really the best portrayal of eating meat and drinking with big mouthfuls of wine! Pivovarská Restaurace has a very large brewery, and the restaurant looks like a cellar, as if you are dining in a historic beer brewing factory.
