#Hiking Schafberg Cog Railway. It boasts about 100 years of history and tradition. Usually, it runs to the top of Schafberg, but during the winter season from October to March, the Schafberg Cog Railway is closed due to the temperature and snow. It is also closed during other seasons or special circumstances. When I visited Schafberg, the train only ran to the middle. So I got off the train halfway up the mountain and walked hard up to the top. #summervacay My initial plan for St. Wolfgang, Austria, revolved around the famous Schafbergbahn cog railway. However, a heavy downpour the night before led to its closure. Initially, I was a bit disappointed, but our last-minute switch to a "boat + cable car" combination turned out to be unexpectedly perfect! Recommended Itinerary: We started our journey by taking a boat from the St. Wolfgang Markt pier. After about 20 minutes, we disembarked at St. Gilgen. Ticket prices: Adults €13.80; Children (6-15 years) €6.90; Children (0-5 years) free. From the boat landing, it was less than a 10-minute walk to the Zwolferhorn cable car station. The cable car ride was very smooth, taking about 15 minutes to reach the summit. Round-trip ticket prices: Adults €34; Children (6+ years) €17; Children (under 6 years) free (making it super suitable for family trips!). The scenery from the top was absolutely breathtaking!
