#2024wish I had visited Perak Musuem on the weekend, it was truly an amazing experience. This musuem is the oldest musuem in Malaysia, situated in Jalan Taming Sari, 34000 Taiping, Perak. Perak Musuem is a treasure trove of the history, its highlights the history of the state, featuring historical and archaeological gems with even remains of animals and artefacts. Perak Museum has 4 galleries and outdoor exhibitions: 1. Gallery A - Taxidermy and Archaeological Exhibition Gallery 2. Gallery B - Nature Gallery 3. Gallery C - Cultural Exhibition Gallery 4. Gallery D - Aboriginal and Pottery Gallery 5. Outdoor Exhibition The musuem is open daily from 9am - 5pm, admission fee is RM2 only. For the price paid, I think its a very good time to spend with family here. Only downside were some areas were closed. Also suggestion to have events throughout the day such as feeding spectacle or something more engaging with visitors. Animals looked like were taken good care of. VILLA in Taiping, Perak, Malaysia This villa is located in the mountains a little close to the city center, and it's full of greenery. Wherever you look, there's greenery, greenery, and more greenery. It feels like you're in the mountains. Taiping is a very hot place, but it's cool here because it's surrounded by greenery! It's a perfect summer resort!! This accommodation is a house-by-house, so you don't have to worry about the people around you. You can even invite friends over♪ You can walk around freely outside, so you can enjoy the forest as much as you like. The birds kept at the villa, such as ducks and chickens, walk around freely. The chickens here climb and sleep in trees that are over 2 meters high (lol) I was surprised. They seem to keep other animals, so you never get bored of exploring! Also, since it's close to the mountains, you can hear the monkeys croaking all the time. But that's kind of nice. It makes you forget about city life. There's also a durian tree in the garden, and there's a warning sign. It would be terrible if it fell on your head. Please be careful. By the way, if you stay here, make sure to bring insect repellent. If you are in Taiping this is the place you would want to visit, located at Maxwell hill surely this is the wettest place in Malaysia. Although rated as 3 star hotel the feature of this hotel is outstanding. Rating as per below : (this is my personal preference only others may not) Room rating (3/5) The room comes with bath tub (standard size) the cleanliness of the bath tub is quite so-so, so dont expect much. Bed is nice and comfortable with extra pillow also you can hangout at the outside where there is a balcony Public Pool rating (4/5) Pool was big and the water is clean, there is a section for children and toddler area. The deep of the pool is just nice for grown ups Food rating (2/5) Hotel restaurant could adds in much more variety to the breakfast menu, but the price buffet for breakfast is cheap so you get what you paid off Facilities (4/5) Other than walking distance to the maxwell hill there is also an adventure park right next to the hotel

While driving back to Penang from Ipoh, we made a lunch stop in Taiping and stumbled upon MJ’s 明記, a hidden gem that pleasantly surprised us. Located in what many would call a quieter town, this cozy and thoughtfully decorated restaurant offered a surprisingly refined take on Western fare — something we didn’t expect to find in Taiping. The ambiance was welcoming and warm, with a modern yet homely feel. Although the server attending to us seemed a little inexperienced, he was friendly and genuinely trying his best, which we appreciated. To our delight, the owner himself came over to help clarify some questions about the menu — a nice personal touch that added to the positive experience. When the food arrived, we were impressed. Each dish was well-executed, flavorful, and nicely plated. The family enjoyed every bite, and it was clear that the kitchen put real effort into both the quality and presentation of the food. For what we got, the prices were very reasonable, making it all the more worthwhile. Overall, MJ’s is a standout in the Taiping dining scene — a place where great food, heartfelt service, and cozy atmosphere come together. #springitinerary The day before the May Day holiday, we suddenly decided to escape to this hidden paradise—and wow, Taiping, Perak really surprised us with such a peaceful getaway! 🌄💧 The surroundings are exactly what we dreamed of—mountains, water, small waterfalls, and streams 🏞️💦. Just a heads-up to bring mosquito repellent for outdoor time 🦟⚠️. Luckily, we brought our own toothbrush and toothpaste 🪥, and I’d also recommend bringing your own towels 🛁 just in case. Since it was a last-minute trip, we arrived in Taiping around dinner time 🍽️. After dinner and dessert, we checked in around 9 PM. I had a wonderful one-day trip to Taiping Zoo. The zoo was full of interesting animals like elephants, tigers, and monkeys. I enjoyed watching the lions and feeding the deer. The zoo was clean and well-organized, with many shady trees and resting spots. I also took a tram ride around the zoo, which was fun and relaxing. It was a great place to learn about wildlife and spend time with my family. I took many photos and had ice cream before leaving. I really enjoyed the trip and hope to visit again someday.
