Santa Catalina Monastery is so photogenic

You can easily spent several hours in Santa Catalina Monastery (Monasterio de Santa Catalina de Siena), but you could also see it in under one hour. The different courtyards partly represent the stages of prospect nuns on their journey to a life in the monastery. The "cells" of the nuns are poor or rich depending on the affluence of their families, which is especially interesting compared to European monasteries where nuns and monks live in rather austere environs. The bold, complementary colors of the buildings are great for photography and the many nooks and crannies make for a plethora of motives.
