Arxan tips to avoid pitfalls, hope your journey is smooth😎 Because I didn’t want to hike or wait for the sightseeing bus, I gave up the scenery inside the National Forest Park loop and just drove around the mountains for half a day, which was enough! But if you have enough time and energy, you can definitely buy a ticket, valid for 2 days. After experiencing the free spots, I believe the paid ones will be even better. Free entry to the mountain 🚩 At the mountain entrance, there is a service center and restrooms. Drive forward and tell the staff you’re going to "Chaihe" to get a pass slip, which you won’t need to use later. Not recommended ❌❌ ▪️ Many recommend the Unfrozen River and the Blue House, but I think the scenery is just so-so. The Unfrozen River requires a detour into the Tianchi service area, which honestly is dirty and messy. I checked it out for everyone, and it’s better not to stay in mountain homestays. Although the city is a bit far, it’s well-equipped, or you can stay in Yiershi Town at the mountain foot, which is better than staying up the mountain. ▪️ Turtle Back Rock is also free but just a small spot by the roadside. You can’t even tell it’s there without looking carefully, and the rock surface is overgrown with weeds, so no need to make a special trip. Worth seeing 🌟🌟 📍 Wusu Langzi Lake Whether close to the lake or overlooking it from the mountain, the scenery is at least decent. It’s probably more charming in the morning mist. 📍 Climb the small hill where the Blue House is located; there’s a small cliff viewpoint. Standing on the small stone is a bit nerve-wracking, but you can overlook the road, grassland, and birch forest scenery. City area 📍 Arxan Railway Station Small but exquisite, but not worth a special visit. Consider it only if your accommodation is within 5 km (and you’re staying in the city). Accommodation 🏨🏨 City hotels are generally older; if you care about hygiene, bring disposable bed sheets. There are no elevators, haha. If not staying in the city, consider Yiershi Town at the mountain foot to save an hour of travel to the city. Food 🍽️ For a main meal, try the ice-boiled lamb hotpot 🐑 For breakfast, I recommend Dongpo Bun Shop. As for city siu mai, locals don’t recommend it much, saying it’s pre-made 😂
