Alas Harum & Tegallalang Rice Terraces: Ubud's Iconic Beauty! 🌾✨

#summervacay The Alas Harum and Tegallalang Rice Terraces are absolutely a must-visit when you're in Ubud! These historic terraces, dating back to the 8th century and supported by the traditional subak irrigation system, are a UNESCO World Heritage site for good reason. The sight of the rice paddies cascading down the hillsides in lush, verdant layers is truly magnificent. Our Visit & Tips We timed our visit perfectly to catch the sunset, which painted the terraces in a beautiful golden light – highly recommended! While there are fun activities, we hit a couple of snags: the zipline was temporarily closed due to too many people (and not selling tickets), so the kids missed out on that. The sky bike also had a height requirement, seemingly around 165cm, which ruled out some of our group. Also, note that the pool isn't open to children. Dining & Exploration On the upside, the pork ribs at the restaurant were absolutely delicious! Be prepared for a good workout; there are lots of stairs going up and down the various viewing platforms.
