Wat Pathumkongkha Ratchaworawihan, Samphanthawong

#VisitBangkok Today, I will take you to another temple in Bangkok, which is located in a tourist area like Yaowarat. This temple is located next to the Chao Phraya River. Wat Pathum Khongkha Ratchaworawihan is a second-class royal temple. Originally, this temple was called Wat Sampeng, after the road in front of the temple. Later, during the reign of King Rama I, it was given a new name, "Wat Pathum Khongkha". Wat Pathum Khongkha Ratchaworawihan has been around since the Ayutthaya period. When King Rama I first established Rattanakosin, he ordered Phraya Thammathikorn (Bunrod Bunyaratphan) and Phra Wichit Nawi to be the chiefs of the craftsmen and commoners to build a new city on the east bank. He ordered Phraya Rachasetthi and the Chinese to move and build houses in the garden area from Khlong Wat Sampluem (Wat Chakrawadi Ratchawat) to Khlong Wat Sampeng (Wat Pathum Khongkha). It was considered an ancient temple that was very dilapidated, so Somdet Phra Bowonratchao Maha Sura Singhanat ordered the entire temple to be renovated. When the palace was renovated and completed, King Rama I gave it a new name: "Wat Pathum Khongkha". #Worship and ask for blessings
