🇪🇸 Barcelona 4-Night, 5-Day Trip《Architecture Edition》

🤳🏻📸 ① Sagrada Familia ② Park Güell ③ Palau de la Música Catalana ④ Casa Batlló ⑤ Casa Mila ⑥ Hospital de Sant Pau ① Sagrada Familia ⏰ Morning, Day 2 Our destination for this trip! "I wanted to see the Sagrada Familia under construction, even though it's nearing completion!" was the reason we decided to travel to Barcelona. My first visit to the Sagrada Familia was breathtaking. I planned my route to get as close as possible to the building during my stay, and visited every day to see it. While there's an additional fee, the view of Barcelona and the various sculptures from the top of the tower are well worth the climb. Photography is allowed inside the building, but please be quiet and please note that poses like peace signs are prohibited. The souvenir shop is filled with stained glass and tower-themed items. There are also many items in the series featuring other Gaudi buildings (Casa Mila, Casa Batlló, Park Güell), so collecting them might be fun. Sagrada Familia... This alone was a great memory that made me feel like it was worth visiting Spain! ② Park Güell ⏰ Day 2 Afternoon After visiting Sagrada Familia, we walked to Park Güell. It took about 30 minutes. There were shops along the way, so we could have lunch and not get bored. However, since it's quite a distance and the end is uphill, if you're in a hurry or worried about the restroom, we recommend taking a taxi, which takes about 10 minutes. There were many things to see, such as the stone arch and the observation plaza. There were lots of people! People were taking photos, relaxing on benches, and spending their time however they wanted. The women's restroom near the plaza only had three private stalls, so there was quite a long line. It's best to allow plenty of time to use it. ③ Palau de la Música Catalana ⏰ Day 3 Morning This music hall for a civic musician designed by architect Montaner... It was apparently built in just three years. Compared to Gaudi's relatively simple architecture, it was quite luxurious. It's recommended to visit first thing in the morning, as it's the least crowded. Inside, they were playing a pipe organ, which I thought was just a practice session, and I was really impressed. The tiles were so pretty. ④ Casa Batlló ⏰ Day 3 Afternoon We took a detour from the Palau de la Música Catalana and eventually took a bus to get close by. This is a typical house designed by Gaudi. It's said to be inspired by nature, and the resulting ergonomic furniture...there's plenty to see. There's a free Japanese audio guide. Listening to the details sparked my interest, and I especially wanted the doorknob and chair. (They were in the souvenir shop.) Apparently, the area around the exit was designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. ⑤ Casa Mila ⏰ Day 3 Afternoon We walked from Casa Batlló. This building has a different feel, and there's also a free Japanese audio guide. Casa Mila itself There are exhibits and explanations about other Gaudi buildings, so it's a good idea to consider this when deciding the order of your tour. Visiting it first will prepare you for the other buildings, and visiting it last will serve as a review. You can also climb to the rooftop for a panoramic view of Barcelona. The view of the Sagrada Familia from the arch was also beautiful. ⑥ Sant Pau Hospital ⏰ Morning of Day 4 We took the subway from the hotel to this building. Like the Palau de la Música Catalana, this building was designed by Montaner. It's truly luxurious! It's hard to believe it's a hospital! However, there are many tiles, especially in areas that people touch, so I felt that cleanliness was a priority for a hospital. It's no wonder it was in use until 2009. I recommend viewing the Sagrada Familia through the stained glass windows. #EuropeTrip #SpainTrip #SpainTrip #GaudiArchitecture #antonigaudi
