The beauty of Weizhou Island in October and November is absolutely stunning! There's no way to avoid its charm at all!!

Three days and two nights on Weizhou Island were amazing. So wonderful that it felt like a dream. I sincerely recommend Weizhou Island during the off-season in October and November❗️❗️ Having been to Pingtan Island, Nan'ao Island, Dongshan Island, Bali, and Sanya, I currently rank Weizhou Island in my top three favorites (the top two spots are still vacant). Since I was a child, whenever I heard about Beihai and Weizhou Island, the reviews were mostly negative. Even though I’m from Guangxi, I never considered traveling to Beihai, let alone Weizhou Island. There are countless warnings about Weizhou Island online, which deepened my stereotypes about the place. A few days ago, I had dinner with my cousin, and he mentioned that Weizhou Island is actually pretty good. Except for the somewhat expensive island entry fee, it’s worth visiting. So I went all in on execution, immediately booked ferry tickets and a hotel for Weizhou Island. First of all, the weather forecast for Weizhou Island is very unreliable. It feels like Weizhou Island is beyond the reach of weather forecasts. The days I was there were predicted to be rainy, but it was sunny every day. Make sure to bring sunscreen!! Although the temperature isn’t as hot as summer now, the island is still very sunny! Staying in Dishui Danping, Shiluokou, or Nanwan Street is all fine. These places are close to each other, about a 10-minute ride on an electric scooter. If you’re traveling with two people, it’s best to rent a tricycle. I rented an electric scooter alone, and it was way too sunny. For sunsets, go to: Dishui Danping, Shiluokou, Chunxia Cliff Garden, or Muya Cliff. For sunrises, go to: Shell Beach or Five-Color Beach. For tide pooling, go to: Zhuzailing, heading towards Five-Color Beach. (If you don’t know, you can ask the homestay owner.) For sunsets, I highly recommend Shiluokou Beach. At Shiluokou, you can also check the tide chart 🍊. If the tide drops below 1.5 meters, you can walk from Shiluokou to Muya Cliff and take amazing photos on the volcanic rocks. For sunrises, I recommend Shell Beach the most. Walk from Shell Beach towards the Sea Soul Camping Base. There are very few people, and you can have the whole beach to yourself to watch the sunrise. Do NOT go to the Five-Color Beach sunrise viewing spot. I think the scenery there isn’t good, and they charge for parking. I recommend going to the big cliff at Five-Color Beach; photos 1-4 were all taken there. The photo quality rivals the volcanic rocks at Muya Cliff. You can search 🍠 for detailed guides on how to get there. But be careful, it’s very slippery when the tide is high. Crocodile Mountain Volcano Park is not hot in the evening, but the tide might be low then, so you might not see clear seawater. I think it’s still worth visiting at that time. Chunxia Cliff Garden is also very beautiful, with a 39 yuan entrance fee. If you like photography, it’s worth a visit. Chunxia Cliff Garden is not far from Muya Cliff. When I went, there was no guard, so whether you can enter depends on luck. But there’s nothing much to photograph at Muya Cliff in the middle of the day, so it’s okay to skip it. The area around the Island Bookstore is very beautiful. On sunny days, the sea is the bluest on Weizhou Island, don’t miss it! If you’re a special forces type who goes to the beach to watch sunsets and sunrises, there’s no need to book a sea view room, because even if I booked one, I didn’t watch from the room. What a waste of money💰. In summary, I absolutely love Weizhou Island!!
