Recommended Northeastern cuisine near Beijing Capital Airport

This hidden gem in Tianzhu, known as No. 7 Courtyard Northeastern Cuisine, offers a delightful dining experience. I tried their set menu, and while the fish was slightly underwhelming, the other dishes were quite impressive. Starting with the Northeastern-style cold noodles (Da Lapi), the side ingredients were abundant, including vegetables and shredded meat. The noodles were smooth and the sesame sauce was well-balanced. Their sweet and sour pork (Guo Bao Rou) deserves praise. Unlike some versions that prioritize crispiness but end up being tough to chew, theirs was perfectly crispy with a balanced sweet and sour flavor, making it easy to enjoy. The Demoli Stewed Fish was the only slight letdown due to the fish's freshness, but the dish was still hearty with plenty of vermicelli and tofu. The fish portion was generous as well. The stir-fried hand-torn cabbage was cooked to perfection, retaining its crisp and tender texture. The chive pockets were flavorful, with a thin and crispy crust and fresh chive and egg filling. Each order comes with five pockets. Lastly, the Northeastern-style corn porridge (Da Cha Zhou) was aromatic and a comforting specialty. Overall, the flavors were excellent, though parking can be a bit inconvenient. The service was decent too.
