Take the train to Beppu

Traveling by train from Hakata to Beppu Method 1: Take the Shinkansen Kodama Exp. and change trains at Kokura Station, then take the Ltd. Exp. Sonic train and get off at Beppu Station Method 2: Take the Ltd. Exp. Sonic train directly to Beppu Station 📌For this trip, we intentionally chose the second method, which is to take the Ltd. Exp. Sonic train because we wanted to ride the Sonic 883 train, a cool dark blue train. For this trip, we can use the JR Rail Pass, JR Kyushu, JR Northern Kyushu Pass. For the return trip from Beppu, we recommend taking the same train because we can sit for a long time without having to transfer to Hakata Station.
